In this podcast we are joined by Lisa from Iwoca where we look at what Iwoca does but also how they have made huge strides in such a short space of time. The term we use for this is “Obscene Massive Action”.
We start off by looking briefly at what Iwoca is and who would be best suited for their services. Then we get on to the cool topic of taking massive action.
How half of the battle is just turning up every day and getting stuck in and taking action. We then discuss the incredibly successful Iwoca meetups held around the country. Lisa tells us how these started and how they have grown to the level they are at today.
Press Play below and listen in right now:
The Topics Covered
- Who are you and what do you do?
- How did you get started in eCommerce?
- What is Iwoca and how did you get involved there?
- The importance of taking action and turning up
- How the Iwoca meetups started
- The impact of the Iwoca Online Seller Meetup events
Iwoca have gone from Zero to where they are today in an incredibly short space of time, just under three years.
How have they done this? Simple. The strategy of ‘Be Everywhere’ turn up and work and grind. We can see a lot of parallels with what we are trying to build with UnderstandingE and thought it would be interesting to explore this further, which is exactly what we do with Lisa in this podcast.
The Iwoca Online Seller Meetups
In the podcast we chat with Lisa about the Online Seller Meetup’s that Iwoca hold all around the UK. We hear how they started out and where they have got to now, along with some funny stories along the way.
Both myself and Matt made it to the last meetup in Birmingham after the IRX event and they had a fantastic speaker and a really good panel discussion.
Iwoca’s next event is scheduled to be held up in Leeds on the 19th June starting at 6pm. You can register here: onlinesellermeetups.com/events/leeds-jun-2014

Many thanks to Lisa for taking the time to share with us her experiences so far and an insight into Iwoca and sharing the journey they have been on so far through taking huge amounts of action.
