Amazon Listing Essentials with M2E Pro
When you move from eBay over to Amazon, you’ll quickly discover that Amazon is a different beast when it comes to listing requirements. Instead of free‑form item specifics, Amazon relies on ASINs, condition notes, and category‑specific attributes that must be filled in precisely or your listing will simply never go live. In this course we’ll show you exactly how to map your Magento attributes onto Amazon’s required fields using M2E Pro’s listing wizard, so you can avoid the dreaded ‘incomplete’ or ‘suppressed’ listing statuses. Zero knowledge of Amazon’s backend is required – we’ll walk you through the whole process step by step, from matching to an existing ASIN to creating a brand‑new product detail page.
We’ll also cover the things that trip up most first‑time Amazon sellers, like setting the correct item condition (New, Used – Like New, etc.), choosing the right fulfilment channel (FBA vs. merchant fulfilled), and handling brand approval for gated categories. In true Matt & Dave form, we’ll show you the simple method first – using M2E Pro’s automatically suggested Amazon attributes – and then the advanced method, where you override specific values directly from the Magento product edit screen. By the end of this course you’ll understand how to keep your Amazon listings perfectly in sync with your Magento catalogue, including price changes and stock updates.
Configuring Play and Rakuten Channels
Most people only think of eBay and Amazon when it comes to multi‑channel selling, but Play and Rakuten can be surprisingly profitable with far less competition – if you know how to set them up correctly. In this course we’ll take you through adding Play and Rakuten as separate channel accounts in M2E Pro, and then configuring each one to match its unique listing format. Play.com’s catalogue works very differently from Rakuten’s product database, so we’ll show you how to search for existing product matches and create new ones when needed, all without leaving your Magento admin.
Because Play and Rakuten have their own quirks – such as Play’s stricter image requirements and Rakuten’s heavy focus on product descriptions and barcodes – we’ll give you a complete checklist for each platform. You’ll learn how to set up separate listing templates for these channels, how to handle their different shipping and return policies, and how to verify that your stock levels are being pulled through correctly. As always, we’ll keep it simple: once you’ve completed the video tutorials, you’ll be able to add a new channel to your M2E Pro setup in under half an hour.
Automating Stock and Price Sync Rules
Manually adjusting prices and stock levels across four marketplaces is a recipe for overselling and lost profit. M2E Pro includes powerful policy‑based automation, and in this course we’ll show you exactly how to set it up so that your listings take care of themselves. You’ll learn how to create pricing rules that automatically add a percentage on top of your Magento price for each marketplace, so that eBay fees, Amazon referral fees, and Play/Rakuten commissions never eat into your margin. We’ll also cover minimum and maximum price boundaries to stop you accidentally selling at a loss.
Stock synchronisation is just as important. We’ll walk you through quantity policies that pause a listing when stock drops below a certain threshold, or that only send a portion of your available stock to each channel so you always keep a buffer for your own website. You’ll also see how to set up rules that override the default behaviour for specific products – for example, excluding heavy or fragile items from Play and Rakuten.
- Percentage‑based price adjustments per channel
- Minimum and maximum price safety nets
- Quantity buffers and per‑channel stock allocation
- Product‑specific overrides for heavy or restricted items
Efficiently Handling Multi‑Channel Returns and Cancellations
Returns are an unavoidable part of selling online, but when you’re active on four marketplaces at once, the process can quickly become chaotic. In this course we’ll show you how M2E Pro pulls return requests from eBay, Amazon, Play, and Rakuten directly into your Magento order grid, so you never have to log into each marketplace separately. You’ll learn how to authorise a return, issue a partial or full refund, and automatically restock the returned item – all from within Magento, with the details pushed back to the correct marketplace.
We’ll also cover cancellations and how to handle them without getting a defect on your seller account. M2E Pro lets you set up automated email templates for return confirmations and refund notifications, and we’ll show you how to customise these for each marketplace’s tone. In true Matt & Dave form, we’ll give you the simple workflow for most returns, and then the advanced workflow for tricky cases like cross‑channel returns (a customer buys on eBay but tries to return it as an Amazon order). By the end of the course, you’ll have a bullet‑proof returns process that keeps your seller metrics clean and your customers happy.
