Say goodbye to Magento Connect, but not to its eCommerce solutions as they will be passed down to Magento’s new extension store like family heirlooms.
Your favourite destination for extensions will switch off on the 17th of September and automatically redirect you to the second generation Magento Marketplace, wherein you’ll find all of its products.
Launched last year, the said extension store currently offers more than 1,500 extensions which were made to facilitate the daily store operations of online sellers like you.
Like its predecessor, the Magento Marketplace is the go-to place for the best tools that enhance the functionality of a Magento store. It has a prettier layout, though, compared to the former, plus it presents extensions, themes, and other products in a more comprehensible manner.
Find what you need in a jiffy
To give their customers, partners, and developers a better experience was the main objective of Magento Commerce for building the Marketplace.
They brought the best products into the store to ensure the satisfaction of their customers, if not exceed it, and then they organized these into categories.
Let’s say you’re looking for an extension that provides comprehensive payment options, go to the Payments & Security category.
If you’re in search of a tool that will help you reach potential customers through various channels, it may be accessed through the Marketing tab.
Not only do you get an overview of the product and its features, but you also get to see the star ratings and reviews left by other merchants who have actually purchased and used it.
Magento also saw to it that your previous purchases appeared on a single page so that you can easily manage your extensions.
There’s really so much to explore in the Magento Marketplace which, by the way, includes a section that is dedicated to the contributions of extension and theme developers to the Magento community.
If you’re among the many who are in awe of these enterprising developers without whose expertise none of the massively used Magento extensions would’ve been realised, check out their stories.
And here’s us wishing for your continued success,
Dave & Matt
