Hi Everyone,
Just going through all the programs that we are going to need as we are updating our Magento store come September. We are defiantly having Fishpig/Wordpress adding to the site as a must. What I’m trying to get my head around as I have never used this before (Fishpig/ Wordpress) is the possibility’s it could open up with the plugins or not. What I’m thinking about is a Newsletter which is connected to the Magento front page of our website as a SIGN UP FOR OUR NEWSLETTER BOX. At the moment we use Mailchimp but we find it difficult to work around so looking for a different route. Had a look at the Newsletter that comes with Magento, although simple have heard that it can be problematic. So just wondering if we have Fishpig/ Wordpress installed and we installed a Newsletter Plugin through Wordpress if that would work, just a long shot as their Newsletter programs look easier and better to use than the ones on Magento Connect.

Hello there. We’re not certain if all plugins would work with Fishpig/ Wordpress. Some plugins work fine, while others probably won’t. The best thing to do is to try to install first each one individually and then install them together and see what would work best. In other words, that would mean experimenting a bit to see if they would complement one another.

Old thread here but yeh – I wouldn’t use the Magento newsletter system. I’ve not heard much positive feedback from it. There’s a good Mailchimp plugin for Magento, use that :)

I’d recommend also looking at marketing automation. This involves sending specific customised emails based on what your customer has bought/browsed, at specific points in the buying cycle. We actually made a plugin to connect Magento with Drip. You’re welcome to try it for a few months free if you like, just drop me a line.
