How do you guys name your pages for products?

Any suggestions or pointers?

Hey Dom,

Do you mean your product pages?

In my experience we have gone with domain name/category/product title as the product page URL.

Yes as well as categories

I tend to go backwards so

DC | This Weeks Comics | Comics | A Place in Space

I was wondering if there was a better way of doing it?

Hmmm I don’t know of any better way, I think that breadcrumb style does offer some benefit to SEO but other than that as long as the customer knows where they are then it’s all good :)

Hi Dom,
Use Google Keyword Planner to do a keyword research for your products/services and choose the best keywork which people usually find for them.

Next step is to use these keywords for the On-page SEO. Search Engines love this.

Example: I have a product and it helps Magento shop owners to boost speed of their websites. After researching keyword, i named it “Magento Full Page Cache” because this keyword has high search volumn.

Hope it helps,

Khanh has the best way there I think, but it takes some time. For a quicker way, it used to be recommended to put the website name in there but I think that is past.

I’d put the most important things first, drilling down.

Eg. Specific Product Name, [1 or 2 features unique], Sub-Category, Category

Naming your product based on Khanh’s technique is next level :)
