As each order comes in from eBay or Amazon it is adding the inventory into the catalogue complete with images. I have simply been deleting them but I now see that the stock levels are all incorrect. Any ideas (in none nerd speak)?

I think this will be related to an order/inventory setting in M2E Pro somewhere, I have asked Matt to see if he knows exactly what would cause this.

Hi John, Dave,

When order collection is on for 3rd party orders ( items not listed or mapped ) m2e pro creates products in Magento aufomatically.

While this might be annoying its the right thing to do so that the inventory maps out.

So… With this in mind. You have two options.

Disable the collection of 3rd party orders in sell on ebay > configuration > accounts > then in the orders tab on the left to disable them.

Or to use the map listings tab in sell on ebay > listings > 3rd party listings tab. This one does mean that the products need to exist in Magento.

And with the latter one you can then get M2E to control the stock levels for you.

Thank you Matt.
The problem I have, is we sell a lot of products on ebay which are not in our Magento inventory because the Magento site is very niche. I know that additional stores can be created on Magento where I could list this other inventory but it’s beyond my technical knowledge.

Regards,
John

Howdy John,

Did you know that you could still have these products in Magento and then set them as having a visibility of “Not Visible Individually”?

Below is a screenshot of this. That then means that you can have the product in the inventory, but it won’t be shown on the website, however can be used for eBay & Amazon.

That’s great Matt. I had not thought of that.

I would need to create some categories for these additional products. Could these be set to not show on site? I have had a look at the settings on the create new category page but there does not appear to be a do not show available.

Your time and help is really appreciated.

Have a great Sunday.

Howdy John,

Absolutely! In this tutorial https://understandinge.com/tutorial/su-0014/ we add in several “internal use” categories, which are disabled categories that don’t appear on the website, however you can still see them in the admin pages and add/remove products from them.
