Is it possible to auto-format UK postcodes?

Hi there,

We have an interesting puzzle, but I’m not sure if it something that can be fixed or not. Because eBay doesn’t force customers to enter their UK postcode in a correct format, when being imported into Magento (and then processed on through SAP and eventually to our courier company), there are issues with the postcode not matching the required format.

Is it possible to autocorrect UK postcodes as they are imported through m2e and/or when the order is created within Magento to resolve this issue?

Many thanks, Dan

Dan,

Not sure about auto correcting through m2e pro/magento but if you export your orders out into a csv file you should be able to write some logic formula or a macro in excel to do it for you.

Hope this helps

Hi Paul

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately that’s not possible. We use InSync to map the orders across to SAP before heading off to the warehouse and the entire process is automated, so we can’t ‘interupt’ it, but hoping to find a way to fix it during the process.

Hmmm, not sure on this, other than what Paul suggested, it sounds like it would have to be a custom code change somewhere.

Late reply here – I’m curious if this is something you see a lot, that the courier company regularly has issues with?

What’s your process when exporting orders for ‘sap’?

  • pickPack - smarter Magento packing sheets and warehouse picklists
  • shipEasy - process multiple orders with no sweat & get a visual sales overview easily

Off topic, sorry. Just came across this. I would like to have a chat with you, Daniel about your SAP-magento setup. I am in a research stage at the moment, we want to implement SAP B1 and i would love to speak to someone who’s got this setup in place already. 5-10 minutes of your time on the phone perhaps? Let me know if you’re up for it.
