I am testing the magmi import and I have a problem when I import the product imports into the ‘Root/Category/Sub category’ so it is in each.
This is what I get: http://screencast.com/t/vvpFFt0TZ
This is what I have in my CSV file: http://screencast.com/t/uij8qPuwF
But what I want is it just to appear in the sub category. Maybe I am thinking this wrongly :) It has been some time since I last used Magmi in anger!
Your screenshots don’t match the question, as your first screenshot is of your brand attribute problem, did you manage to solve that?
I don’t understand your problem, if a product is in a sub category then that sub category is part of the main category which in turn is part of the root category, so in the manage category section within magento there will be ticks in all three.
If you click on the main category on your website you will only see the sub categories within the category not the products.

Sorry for the delay in responding Christmas seems to stop everything!!
And yes I made a mistake with my screenshots!
here is the correct ones, and I not really sure it is a massive issue, but I thought it best to find an answer if there is one! :)
This is how a simple product is imported: http://screencast.com/t/GIaGcaKsZ in terms of the categories.
But this is how other products already in the website are: http://screencast.com/t/iBYM6PXyBDl
What I don’t know if these were imported or manually entered. And all I wanted to do is match this configuration, so that the product is in just the category it needs to be in.
Many thanks in advance
