Hi,

I have just followed the tutorial and I get this error trying to update qty of one sku (easy)

error 1:SQLSTATE[HY000] [2002] php_network_getaddresses: getaddrinfo failed: Name or service not known –
Trace not found

Found in the comments below one of the videos that it is fixed changing connectivity to database from host/port to socket, but I only have host/port option in the dropdown. Would you please help me fix it?

Thanks, Angel

Howdy Angel,

That sounds like the details that were picked up by the installer didn’t or don’t match what you have in Magento.

Can you open up this file using FTP:

app/etc/local.xml

And see if the details match against what you have in Magmi.

Besides that, it’ll be a question for the hosting provider.

Hi, I found that before and did the check. The values were picked correctly. They are the same in both sides.

What I asked in my precious post is that the connection dropdown should have two options: host/port and socket, one of the UnderstandingE users replied in the comments of the video that sorted the same problem just changing to socket, but I dont have that option available, I only have host/port available.

So the question is:
Is there any reason or problem that explains why I only have “host/port” in the dropdown? And if so, how can I fix it?

As it is the UnderstandingE Magmi software who does not allow me to select socket, I understand I need to ask here first.

Thanks

Hi Angel,

You’ve confused me now because Magmi doesn’t have a socket option.

All I can really suggest here is to contact your hosting provider and see what they say as the installer script should populate the details you need, plus you’ve confirmed they match the local.xml file.

Weird, maybe I am not explaining myself correctly.

Please check your answer to the issue reported by Tom Wasden on the 18th of August 2014 in the comments of the tutorial of this link below. I think it is the same problem I have.

Hi Angel,

Pass, I was just agreeing with him if I’m honest.

Reading here http://stackoverflow.com/quest…..-not-known and
http://stackoverflow.com/quest…..ot-working the latter one suggests using 127.0.0.1 instead of “localhost”.

That’s the best suggestion I can offer Angel,
