Hi all,

I just noticed that my brand logo slider has stopped appearing. Unfortunately it was several backups ago and much work since. Looking at my back up notes doesn’t reveal anything obvious that I might have tinkered with. But I did install MatrixRates extension. Could that be something to do with it?

Just to confirm the code I’m using, as per tutorial. Was working fine.

<!– Brand Slider Example 1–>
{{block type="brands/brands" template="infortis/brands/brand_slider.phtml" breakpoints="[0, 1], [320, 2], [480, 2], [768, 3], [960, 4], [1280, 5]" block_name="View All Brands" move="0" loop="1" pagination="1" timeout="6000"}}

Would appreciate any advice as to how to fix this great feature.
Thank you!
Adam

Hello there Adam. I think you might be on track when you said that the extension you installed might be causing the error. I would suggest disabling it and see if that might somehow fix the issue.

Hi Rodney,

Thank you. However, uninstalling the extension didn’t resolve it. Can’t think what else I might have changed that would have caused this. Retracing my steps between the backups identified the guilty day’s work. But all I did that day was MatrixRates, Twitter Feed, Facebook Like Box (aborted), set up CRON, I added Google Captcha. I have disabled/deleted all of this one by one but the brands slider doesn’t reappear.

No changes to Infortis settings were made, but I double checked that

Hmmm should I have cleared cache between changes during this elimination process? Because I didn’t! Any ideas?

Actually, having just retraced my steps I’m more comfortable with just restoring the backup as it just dawned on me that most of the work since can just be copy pasted. So just a matter of interest really, not critical. Lesson learned!

Hi Adam,

I have the same problem with a customers site, have copied pasted the code from a working site and its still not working on the new site. Have another site were it will display but not correctly.

Have gone through ultimo support and they say to use the code in the guides which I have also tried but still nothing. If I find the solution I will post it here for you.

Regards
Paul

Hi Paul,

I fixed mine moments ago. I installed the latest backup with the broken slider as a clone, and then restored the last known working backup at root. Then I just copy pasted the code from clone to root without overwriting the brand slider code. This fixed the problem.
However, during the process I think I discovered what was causing it. I somehow had the brand slider code on the page TWICE. Seemed to break both as neither were appearing. I should have pasted the code for the whole page here, instead of just the line with the slider.

Check and see if you have duplicated those lines! That was my issue anyway :)

Good luck!
Adam

Well done Adam,

I got one slider to work, didn’t do anything just re saved the page and it worked, used exactly same code on the other site and nothing.

I’m sure I will solve it some how.

Paul
