HI Guys
Sorry if this has been asked already but could not find anything. I have setup variation products in Mag with no issue and added a single image to each of the simple products as mentioned so M2E Pro can send them to eBay so they will swap over images when the variation is selected in the drop down.
But that don’t work on the front end of Magento i have Ultimo installed so not sure if that is the issue so looking for some help please.
I thought the concept was setup in Mag and it feeds Mag Store , eBay stores and Amazon in one push of a button.:)

Hi Dale,
We’re comparing two systems and there is bound to be differences.
As Calum says above this isn’t built into Magento out of the box, but there plenty of extensions available to do this. My huge tip here is that make sure that whichever one you choose, that they have a moneyback guarantee on it, as I tried two last year and neither worked with Ultimo (but these were advanced image swapping ones that added way more than just image swapping they added in swatch images as well for colours and sizes).

Hi Guys
I must have had a senior moment i remember reading about it now!!!! I wont be buying one i am sticking to my low cost budget ethos until i need it. eBay works and until i get my site ready and it has enough traffic coming to it. I am not sure why Magento has not got this on the road map it is an obvious missing component of the system.

Excellent

Has anyone found one they can recommend yet? – I can’t believe that Magento doesn’t do this out of the box! – It might be worth a mention in the training videos?.

Hi Simon,
Such a list would be impossible to maintain I’m afraid.

Howdy Simon,
Just saw your email.
Yea totally agreed, it’s kinda what I would have expected too. We’ve seen that Magento has updated to a responsive theme, not sure what their plans are for adding in extra features such as image swapping are though.
On that topic, I’m wary of suggesting one, because the one that is the best I found (mentioned above) has issues with Ultimo for which I didn’t get to the bottom of resolving.

Howdy Simon,
It’s not going off topic at all.
The easiest way would be to include an image from each variation in the configurable product. eBay will max out at 12, so you won’t get any complaints on that side.

Thanks Matt
yes I had done that thinking magento would flip the images per variant – (this is now my biggest magento bugbear – LOL)
On the website side I’m quite foxed how present it other than all listed as standard single listings (from the variant) in a category – or setting up a grouped product using the relevant variant attribute set?
Also – I have a single listing variant with 60 variants – do you envisage any additional considerations for this for the eBay side?
I hope this makes sense…
thanks again

Hi Steve,
Yea I think M2E only just increased the number of variations to eBay’s limit (60 rings a bell).
The image swapping would be cool, the extension I mentioned earlier would be my first choice or if you’re thinking about using color swatches, see the colour swatches extension I mentioned last night during happy hour.
