Hi Guys

I know in the next part your tackling the Menu / Catalogue structure and i am looking forward to that as mine is a dogs dinner.

Can i ask if you have not started doing the videos yet are you considering updating Ultimo to latest version?

I did last night absolute breeze but i noticed vast improvement in the area your going to cover.

In this version there were big improvements in the main menu. Structure of the menu was significantly simplified and the CSS styles are now much more consistent and cleaner.

New:
menu bar:
editable height of the menu bar
ability to add multiple custom links to the menu
ability to add multiple custom drop-down boxes to the menu
ability to make a category link not clickable (so that it only serves to show/hide a drop-down box)
drop-down boxes:
ability to enable mega drop-downs and classic drop-downs in the same menu
multi-level mega drop-downs
editable width of the drop-downs
editable number of columns with subcategories in mega drop-down
much better control over proportions between sections in mega drop-down (between category blocks and subcategories)
ability to enable/disable shadow of the drop-downs
mobile menu and category blocks:
category blocks with custom content can be displayed in the mobile menu
additional category block displayed at the left side of the subcategories in the mega drop-down
mobile menu menu can be collapsed/opened on page load
Fixed:
size of the product image in cart view ignores “Keep Image Aspect Ratio” option
disappearing mini-cart in Safari if products with options are visible in the mini-cart
newsletter sign up form validation message (pop-up) is not responsive on mobile devices
Version 1.8.1 (June 05, 2014)

Changed:
scope switcher is now displayed in configuration import section in admin panel, even when there’s only one store view in Magento
Version 1.8.0 (May 29, 2014)

New:
ability to import/export color presets with one clickNewMenu.pngImage Enlarger

Just a thought but it seems to offer more flexibility :)

If your not going to upgrade because you already started recording or you just do not think it is worth it. Please can you mention what more is possible with the update?

Hey Dale,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, I will run this by Matt and see what is the best way to do this. Perhaps we have an optional guide for anyone who is on the older version on how to do the update, and why we recommend updating.

As anyone new will already have the latest version…I don’t see any potential problems with this…but then again I never see the potential problems :D

Howdy Dale,

Good shout! Those menu options are miles better.
