Morning

Problem

We have our best selling range of products that we wish to customise the theme.

Our normal menu consists example would be

Comics Graphics Merchandise Exclusives (then our best selling range)

What I am trying to achieve is that once you click on (our best selling range)

The theme changes (which is no issue), but what also changes is the menu to reflect

Our best selling range comics, our best selling graphics, our best selling merchandise

Is this possible without having a totally separate store. I want the products to just be on one store.

Howdy Dom,

What a fab question! This is something I’ve not tried doing before

In Magento we can set the site design on a per category basis ( on the Custom Design tab and then set the theme using the “Custom Design” option) and also the same on a per product basis (the “Custom Design” tab and the “Custom Design” option).

This would need you to create a separate site theme, not a store view and how much you can change at this level, technically everything.

Does that help Dom?

Ok

What I have done is copy over my existing template and rename it, then put the particular pages that i need as the new template.

This is where it gets tricky, where am i looking for to get the code to change the menu so it only shows the new sub menu where the existing menu was.

<?php $_menu = $this->getHtml(‘level-top’) ?>

<?php if($_menu): ?>

<div class="nav-container">

<div class="container_24">

<div class="grid_24">

<div id="menu-icon">Categories</div>

<ul id="nav" class="sf-menu">

<li class="level0 level-top<?php if (Mage::helper(‘core/url’)->getCurrentUrl() === Mage::helper(‘core/url’)->getHomeUrl()) echo ‘ active’; ?>">
<a class="level-top" href="<?php echo $this->getUrl(”)?>">
<span>Home</span>
</a>
</li>
<?php echo $_menu ?>

</ul>

</div>

<div class="clear"></div>

</div>

</div>

<?php endif ?>

I am not a coder so be kind, seems that grid 24 is my menu calling the so rather than call what it is I just need it to call 1 section of the sub category and any of its sub categories.

Hope that makes sense.

Hi Dom,

Yea this is where its going to get nerdy. I’m not sure if its going to be a theme change or a straight CSS edit.

Best suggestion here is to get someone in yo look at this for you.
