Hi Matt – not sure if this may tie-in with the Font issues another member mentioned? …
Here’s my problem:

Just opened another website (separate hosting – totally detached from first website we made).

Simple Servers did the Magento install: 1.9.0.1
Using Ultimo with correct patch for 1.9.0.1
Have been following your guides on creating a resp. site – Installed your Child Theme files.
Have uploaded all the CMS blocks, and the Pages.
Now, trying to change the theme colours (anything) but nothing is changing.
Despite clearing caches, deleting browser history, clearing more caches, repeatedly. Tried different browsers. No change to any colour setting.

Any ideas please?

Matt – did a Roll back on the backup before Ultimo install.
(Turned off the compilers etc as suggested in the Ultimo Manual)
Re-installed all the Ultimo theme files
Cleared all caches etc as instructed
and all is working well now.

Job done :-)

How strange Dale, I have no idea what could be causing this if all of the others are working fine…does the hover link colour change fine?
I will ping Matt and see if he knows what could be at work here.

Hi Dale,

Just checked the source of your website:

media/css/fe4dfff9f691eac4b38b7e06951c9a6c.css

While making style changes, turn off the combining of CSS and JS files.

Off the top of my head this is in System > Config > Developer or one of the bottom 4 options of the left menu for combining CSS and JS files.

And then try again.

HI Matt

Those were off as well :)

Had a reply back from Infortis
– You’re probably changing your settings in the wrong scope (please see the “Current Configuration Scope” switcher in the top left corner of this section of admin panel).

E.g. you’re setting the Link Color for the “Default Config” but it is overridden on the website level or on the store view level.

Please note that scope of Magento configuration has three levels:
1. “Default Config”
2. Website
3. Store view

Settings of a store view override settings of a website and settings of a website override settings of the “Default Config”.

I must have missed that bit in the videos as i set all my colours on the default Config and they worked, all accept Links!!!!!!

Cheers for getting back guys
