Hi,

I am testing a custom menu I have installed on my development website. It has resulted in me making quite a significant change to the structure and hierarchy of my categories and I would really appreciate any feedback on where I am at so far just to make sure I have not made any glaring oversights.

Below is a screenshot of my category structure and I have expanded one of the main categories (underwear) so you can get the gist of the structure it and of the sub-categories, which is replicated throughout all of the other main categories (socks and swimwear).

I have set it up to enable customers to be able to navigate to products based on one or all of either a) brand, b) style or c) fabric.

Can anyone see any glaring customer usability issues or website admin issues with what I have done.

The end screenshot illustrates how the menu you looks front end for the category underwear.

All feedback and suggestions appreciated.

Thanks

Cheers Matt.

Having installed the custom menu I started to sit and think about its potential and what I wanted it to do. This inevitably led to my category structure evolving quite a bit, which will also hopefully bring added SEO to the site. However, it also brought additional work and I just wanted to make sure it wasn’t all in vein before I continue.

Thanks

Hi James,

Yea it’s an odd one, I know that well look back at the UE site in a years time and wonder how on earth we had it like that.

These things evolve over time, for the better :)

Yep, I’ve gotta say James, not sure I could have come up with anything better. To me the ordering makes perfect sense and looking at the structure as a customer, seems like it would be easy to navigate, good job!
