Hi there,

I had a quick look in the forums and couldn’t find this topic so thought I’d create a new one.

Does anyone have any recommendations for an improved wysiwyg editor? and if so why?

I looking for something a bit more user friendly to create our CMS pages with as well as product description etc.

I see redactor is mentioned a bit but can’t really find much else. any one have any experience or suggestions in this area?

Howdy Mark,

I think you’ve already found the one I would use which is the redactor one here http://www.mgt-commerce.com/re…..gento.html

While on this topic, the tutorials we’re about to hit recording on have some advanced HTML in them for laying out the product pages, so we’re going to be keeping to the suggestion of having the html editor disabled by default.

Is it me or does the standard built-in WYSIWYG Magento editor automatically change a to a ?

Is there any way to stop it doing that?

Oops, I’ll try that again! The TinyMCE Editor automatically changes a ‘Bold’ tag to a ‘Strong’ tag when I paste HTML in to it or save HTML with ‘bold’ tags with it. I don’t want that. I want to keep my ‘bold’ tags. I think TinyMCE behaviour can be changed so I can keep my ‘bold’ tags, just need step-by-step instructions as to how to change its behaviour in Magento. Anybody?

Hey Pete,

I haven’t used the TinyMCE extension before and would not be sure how to change the rules base to edit it from Strong to Bold…have you tried messaging the extension creators to see if this can be done easily at your end?
