Hi Dave,

Magento have upgraded me to the latest version and the cron is now working, i’ve changed it to run from every 20mins to every 5 to see if this works ok, the quicker it runs the better for stock update reasons so fingers crossed it will be fine.

Thanks

Jay

Oh yea absolutely 20 mins means you could run into overselling issues etc, whereas 5 is much more ‘safe’ fingers crossed it will be stable from now on.

Do you know where i can find my call back url, i can’t accept paypal payments through my website and paypal have told me it’s to do with this url.

This is the error message PayPal gateway has rejected request. Callback URL is wrong type; you must use the HTTPS (#11813: Callback URL is wrong type).

Hi Jay

We actually cover this in the Magento Website guides which are currently Premium guides.

To use Paypal on your site you will need to have an SSL certificate which is what that error seems to be referring too. You need to add an SSL to your site and then activate it in Magento so your URL can use https.

Paypal likes to make sure sites are secure when taking payments.

Does that make sense?

Hi Jay,

If you have a SSL certificate in place, change the secure path to include an “s” to the http part so it reads https:// (and then your domain name on the end).

A HUGE POINT (hence the caps) is not to do the insecure settings, because if you edit it incorrectly you can still get in and you’ll only knacker the checkout area if set incorrectly.

The video tutorial on this is here, but it is a premium one I’m afraid https://understandinge.com/tutorial/mwf-0024b/ as it’s part of the Magento funcdementals course.
