Royalties/commissions statements

Hi,

we have several items on our site that we have to pay royalties on sales of designs we have on the site (not really a commission as such, but I guess a commission extension might work)

what I’m after is an extension that I can run a report from that will create a “royalties/commission statement” for specific products or categories with a list of date and item count so I can send it to the designers each month. I can (and do) do this manually, but I’d much rather automate it with more consistent output from magento.

cheers

Lindsay

Hi Lindsay,

I haven’t come across an extension that would do this before, but to be honest I haven’t looked for one either :)

Has anyone else any suggestions?

Dave

I’m still searching for something to do this from inside Magento – but until something comes along that does that I use the Orders2CSVPro extension from ext4mage.

As its name implies it exports orders (and a lot more besides) to CSV – the thing that works for me is that the export file format is very customisable with a lot of variables and you can write in-line calculations on the variables. Big bonus for me is that you can schedule the exports.

Its not quite the solution I hoped for and is a bit more complex to set up than I’d hoped and it means I need to finish the statement creation in excel (more coding) – but it works better than anything else I’ve found.

I’m not affiliated to them at all – just commenting on the (half) solution I found.

In case you have pickPack, you should also be able to do that from inside pickPack’s csv exports (excepting inline calculations [happy to add that] and scheduled exports [coming soon with the Automation extension]).

The following users say thank you to Jim @ Moogento for this useful post:

  • pickPack - smarter Magento packing sheets and warehouse picklists
  • shipEasy - process multiple orders with no sweat & get a visual sales overview easily

thanks for the info Jim – I don’t have pickPack at the moment, may do in the future. Shame I didn’t know that before I coughed the cash for Orders2CSVPro :)

cheers
