Magmi won't Import 2 attributes that are associated with extensions

I have 2 attributes as follows:

The first is used/created by Amasty Shipping Table Rates. All values we are importing for the attribute are already entered into Magento, so no on the fly creation.

The second is used/created by Shop by Brand by Aheadworks. Again, the value on the attached sheet are entered into Magento admin.

Lastly, they are set to Required, Global, and Use for Configurable Products, just in case. They are in the Default attribute set. All other attributes and fields are importing just fine.

The ONLY thing in common with both these attributes are they are specifically used by extensions. That said, so is size and color, but size and color were default Magento attributes and these attributes were created at the time of extension installation.

They won’t import.

Any clues?

I’ve seen this issue before when I uploaded products and it usually turns out to human error, at least in my case.

First look at the attribute names and verify you have not misspelled an attribute name; I’ve found dashes instead of underscores, wrong characters, Uppercase vs lowercase.

Next make sure the attributes are present in the attribute set you are using, you mention they are in your Default attribute set, but are they in the attribute set you’ve assigned to the products you are uploading.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Steve.

Yeah, I did my best to check all those items before I posted so I didn’t waste anyone’s time. To this point I have indeed confirmed the following:

– The file names match on the file and in the directory that all the other images successfully imported are in as well.
– The permissions are the same on the images successfully imported and those not
– The attribute set is also the same for all

Basically, in short, I have a sheet that allowed some to import, and some to not, but I can’t find any reason.

Thanks again.

Hey Kory,

Steve is right, usually with Magmi it points to a human error. I will ask Matt to take a look and see if he can advise.

Hi Kory,

See this tutorial this will show you how to find out the internal names used for these attributes and a daft poiint as noted above, make sure they are named exactly the same and are all in lower case.

If they are Magento product attributes (ie appear in the attributes listing Catalog > Attributes > Manage Attributes), Magmi will update them.

Sorry, but the posts about images was supposed to be on my other post about images that weren’t importing correctly.

As for this one, we did find that one of the am_shipping_type will import when using the actual attribute value id(s), but the aw_shopbybrand_brand won’t quite yet.

The video you posted was helpful to get the aw_shopbybrand_brand attribute value id’s, but it did not result in them importing correctly yet.

I have exactly the same problem with am_shipping_type, it just will not import using magmi, I am sure I have the spelling etc correct as I have copied and pasted it from the attribute manager.
Korym you mention “As for this one, we did find that one of the am_shipping_type will import when using the actual attribute value id(s)”
How do you format the heading for this instance ie the id in my case is 163 so do you head the column attribute_id =163 or attribute_id_63 or am I on the wrong track alltogether.
This is the first attribute I have not been able to import with magmi, I have checked all the things that is mentioned in this post too.
Hoping there’s an answer out there.
Thank you
