When I am in MagentoConnect Manager and click on “Check for Updates” it just reloads the page and doesn’t show any available updates in yellow, like it used to.
Any ideas or suggestions?

Hi,

If you go into your home directory and go into the pkg folder then go into mage_all_latest.txt folder and in there you should find a file called mage_all.txt (or something similar). If you don’t feel comfortable deleting the file just remove from your server ie onto your desktop. Then clear your cache and try the update function again and it should work.

When it does work delete the file from your desktop as there no use for it.

Hope this helps
Paul

Thank you very much, Paul.
I tried what you advised but unfortunately it didn’t work, I’m still having the same problem.
Thanks anyway for your kind help.

Found a fix! I’m posting it in case it can help someone else:

In /downloader/lib/Mage/HTTP/Client/Curl.php (line 371)

Change from:
protected function makeRequest(… $https = true)
{
to:
protected function makeRequest(… $https = false)
{
