Is google search available for the backend of magento? ie so items i do not wish to show on the front end are still searchable using google on the backend.
Google won’t be able to see the administration panel of your website, so anything set or stored there it won’t see.
If the product is on the website, then it will be available for Google to index.
There are some settings around the visibility of products in Magento which are out of stock/enabled or disabled. From memory they are stored in System > Configuration > Catalog > Inventory (or one of those tabs under Catalog).
Does that help you David?
Thanks, i had noticed that already. Ive created a workaround which is not ideal but will do meantime. I have set all items to be visible on the frontend and ones that are faulty (but are of use to our internal engineers) i have set the status to ‘out of stock’. That way google will index all items in magento and our engineers can avail of googles more advanced search intelligence.
