I have just downloaded and installed the WYSIWYG Editor for transactional emails. I have unzipped and uploaded the ‘app’ folder to my root directory, cleared my cache and logged out and back in to admin as per the installation instructions.
However, when I try to open a transactional email to edit it I get the following error message’
Fatal error: Call to a member function setEditMode() on a non-object in /home/gigglebe/public_html/app/code/core/Mage/Adminhtml/controllers/System/Email/TemplateController.php on line 88
Has anyone else experienced this or know what I might have done wrong.
I have double checked and I have uploaded the correct version of the extension for my version of Magento
Adventurist and online ecommerce retailer based in the UK. Trading since 2006.
Just working through tutorial ‘SETTING UP CUSTOMISED EMAILS FOR ORDERS IN MAGENTO – PRACTICAL’ but have hit a problem.
Attempting to download the WYSIWYG editor for emails from urthemes is giving a 403 Forbidden error.
Do you know of any issues with that site?
Can it be downloaded from anywhere else?
Thanks for the reply Dave. But James (thanks James!) comments he sent them an email in May and never got a reply! Any attempt to access http://www.urthemes.com gives the same error. Would it be possible for yourself or Matt to email me the extension so that I can install it and continue with my tutorial?
We don’t have a copy of this extension I’m afraid and I’m wary if we did in hosting it as we didn’t and wouldn;t be able to maintain it.
Maybe this would be a viable alternative?
I would like to install the WYSIWYG editor for emails. I visited the website from urthemes like you said in in the tutorial.
Now there is the problem…It says that the editor supports the Versions: 1.4., 1.5., 1.6., 1.7. and 1.8.. I´m using Magento 18.104.22.168. Obviously the editor doesn´t support my verison of magento. Is this correct? I really want to install the editor. Is there any comparable WYSIWYG editor or can I install this one although it says that it doesn´t support the 1.9. version of magento.
This should be fine with 1.9.1, however this question should be asked of the extension developer directly.
this website and download for the transational emails WYSIWIG editors seems to have disappeared?? I have looked at using the FONTIS one recommended about but that says to do something using a compiler to add to magento – I have no idea how to do this. Advice on where to go next with transational emails??? can’t read the code so can’t update them??
Is this the one that you are referring to? https://understandinge.com/product/wysiwyg-editor-emails/?
Hannah, have you heard of Mandrill?
We have this covered in the tutorial https://understandinge.com/lesson/om-0012/
Please take a look and see if that can be of help
but Badeth Mandrill is a totally different service that doesn’t offer a WYSIWIG email editor in magento.
Have you managed to follow this link https://understandinge.com/product/wysiwyg-editor-emails and download the editor? I believe that it is no longer there – please can you verify if that is the case? Then you can either explain how I access this link, as it doesn’t work for me, or advise me of another WYSIWIG editor for transactional emails and remove the dead link from the site and the video lesson
I can’t also download the extension using that link. Yea, the extension is no longer there and it’s replaced with Emosys’ homepage.
I’ve told Matt to update the link in WYSIWYG Editor for Magento Emails.
I found a couple of free WYSIWIG email editors but I can’t suggest them as I haven’t tried those myself and they have bad reviews. I’ll try to get a good recommendation from Matt and update you :)
