I have been running the 0.8.9 beta version of ‘Enhanced Admin Grids (+ Editor)’ for approx. 2 years. Yesterday i decided (for no real reason) to upgrade via magneto connect to the stable version 0.9.2.1 (see image ‘capture 2’). About two seconds after i clicked on the install button, magento connect displayed an error message (see image ‘capture 1’). On refresh ‘Enhanced Admin Grids (+ Editor)’ was no longer on the magento connect list of installed extensions and it had also disappeared from magento. I have tried clearing caches etc and installing from fresh however i keep getting the same error message (see images ‘MC 3’ and ‘MC 4’).

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this problem? What is the best replacement? This is one extension i really need.

I have sent a message to the developer of the extension however it is popular and free so i will be surprised if i get an answer.

I guess the quickest way David would be to revert to the backup you made before updating the extension?

This should do the trick and give you the stable version back.

@Dave1 – The last backup i have before the extension became corrupted was a few days ago now, so reverting back would remove any changes made to the magento site since. When you say ‘revert to the backup’ do you mean that you replace the whole magento site with the last backup or do you only replace the folders and files which are associated with the problematic extension? If so, do you know what files and folders belonging to ‘Enhanced Admin Grids (+ Editor)’ need to replaced?

If i cant get ‘Enhanced Admin Grids (+ Editor)’ working then i will try ‘Enhanced Admin Product Grid’ (see link below) although it has a lower user feedback score. Do you have any experience with ‘Enhanced Admin Product Grid’?

Thanks.

Ahhh I see David,

Yea that would be an issue, I was hoping you had a backup just before any changes / updates were made.

As for Product Grid we haven’t tried that one as the EAG always worked well when we were using it.

Not sure what to suggest if the developers haven’t come back to you other than maybe seeing if Chris Astley could get to the bottom of it.

Chris Astley has already got the ‘Enhanced Admin Grids (+ Editor)’ extension working for me :). Very happy with the service he provided.
