eBay have today announced they will block any listing from 2017 that has javascipt included in the description.
How will this affect Widgetchimp?
As usual, silence from those that can answer. is there a specific widgetchimp forum (I cant find one), as I never seem to get any answers here.
I’m no expert but I’m guessing its not a simple 2 minute job to answer your question and they need to carefully consider all the possible options.
There is support on widgetchimp so I would submit a ticket and as soon as they have a credible answer to your question I’m sure they will get back to you.

Apologies 22 hours without a response must come across as ‘Usual Silence’ ;)
However Matt covered this briefly yesterday in the weekly mastermind. The changes aren’t being enforced until late 2017, so there isn’t any reason to be overly concerned. I’m sure Matt will update WidgetChimp users in plenty of time if & when needed.

Thank you for the reply’s,
I didn’t know how long it would take to get an answer or a response, my comment referred to a past post / enquiry I had about widgetchip that went unanswered and that was my experience, hence asking if there was a forum for widgetchip subscribers, sorry if it offended.
The seller update mentions changes that will occur in July 2016, optimising listings description or using some sort of algorithm to optimise a summery of the description, I would like to know if the current Widgetchip mobile view will be affected by this, or would it affect ebay’s ability to run such an algorithm, also it does mention limiting java by spring 2017 then blocking entirely by autumn 2017 so I would have thought i needed to worry a little sooner as I pay for my subscription for the whole year.
I appreciate eBay are generally very vague with what changes will occur and when they make those changes and as such wouldn’t expect anyone to have solutions straight away, just looking for some guidance and confidence re: July 2016 changes wouldn’t have negative effect on widgetchip and acknowledgement from Widgetchimp they are aware of the announcement and anything else they can add to help ease any anxiety caused by eBay’s changes .
Hope I haven’t offended further, just a sincere question / post about the changes and widgetchip.
I will add, I do love Widgetchip and find its ease of use a major plus, and having great looking listings on ebay to boot, hence my concern.
Might be best contacting WidgetChimp directly for an answer to this, as it doesn’t impact UnderstandingE.
From what I know right now, the changes wont be implemented until late 2017 and there still hasn’t been an announcement on this globally (although I am sure there will be) When sellers have contacted eBay directly about this, they don’t seem to have anything tangible in the way of firm details on this roll out.
Although it does say they will be working with select partners to offer options. This may be a route WidgetChimp can go down as collectively we have a very good relationship with eBay.
That is the best I can do from a UE perspective, but like I said perhaps try WidgetChimp support to see what they have to say.

I am interested in this also. I would also like to see a Widgetchimp forum on their site.
