My issue is i’m pulling the Listing type from a custom attribute and when the attribute says “FixedPriceItem” it gives me errors like 30 days is not an option for this type of listing etc. thinking it says “chinese”.

I could not find anyone in any of the forums with the same problem.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Hi Zalman,

I’m betting this is the combination of names you are using in the attributes.

I can’t check this right now for you, but I will later this evening (approx 3hrs time).

Zalman,

Perhaps try changing your listing type to just “FixedPrice”? Not sure about using a custom attribute in M2e for setting the listing format but I know for ebay’s File Exchange the values accepted for the listing format are: Auction, FixedPrice, ClassifiedAd, and RealEstateAd. Which I believe these should be the same as for M2e.

Tried, Nada.

Still doesn’t work it gives me this error when trying with;
“FixedPrice” –
Global Invalid listing type in attribute.

&
“FixedPriceItem” –
Posted on eBay but as an Auction style listing

It appears FixedPriceItem is correct.. Are you also using a custom attribute for the duration?

If using Custom attribute for “Listing type” Then you have to use a Custom attribute for Duration as well, Or maybe thats only in mine and it’s all messed up :)

Anyhow yes i am.

haha, no I just never used the custom attribute for this so I wasn’t sure. Are you using “Days_30” for duration?

class ListingDurationCodeType extends EbatNs_FacetType
{
// start props
// @var string $Days_1
var $Days_1 = ‘Days_1’;
// @var string $Days_3
var $Days_3 = ‘Days_3’;
// @var string $Days_5
var $Days_5 = ‘Days_5’;
// @var string $Days_7
var $Days_7 = ‘Days_7’;
// @var string $Days_10
var $Days_10 = ‘Days_10’;
// @var string $Days_14
var $Days_14 = ‘Days_14’;
// @var string $Days_21
var $Days_21 = ‘Days_21’;
// @var string $Days_30
var $Days_30 = ‘Days_30’;
// @var string $Days_60
var $Days_60 = ‘Days_60’;
// @var string $Days_90
var $Days_90 = ‘Days_90’;
// @var string $Days_120
var $Days_120 = ‘Days_120’;
// @var string $GTC
var $GTC = ‘GTC’;
// @var string $CustomCode
var $CustomCode = ‘CustomCode’;
// end props

That’s how the duration value is defined in the ebay api.

Really I’m just taking stabs in the dark here.. Never had any use case to specify format by custom attribute before :/

Thanx Chad,

I’m not really sure how to even read that, I thought i was smart enough to run my own magento eBay site etc. without knowing Computers obviously not working out very well.

In m2e pro it tells you with little help buttons what to fill out and it says just to write 30 (Without Days).

And when i did write just 30 it says it’s not supported by this “Listing Type” So i changed it to 5 and it listed as a 5 day auction.

DISASTER ;(

Zalman,

Sorry about that, I’m used to writing on developer forums.. you really don’t need to understand how to read that code at all, I was merely using it as a reference. Basically thats where values are defined for your duration attribute.

Is there any reason you can not just use the predefined Listing Types and need to use a custom attribute?? In the cases I have used custom attributes with m2epro they have had to be given in raw format, by this I mean exactly as the ebay api defines them. If you do not require this be a custom attribute I would suggest using m2epro’s predefined values as much as possible as they are much more user friendly and you don’t have to dig to find out how you have to provide a given value. However, if you require this be a custom attribute, try using Days_30 as your value (exactly that way).

If you have the need for many custom attributes, and have not already done so, I would recommend using Magento‘s ability to define multiple sites/stores/views and define each marketplace you plan to use as a separate store within Magento. Than for case such as this you can define your custom attribute to change based on the site you are sending the value to. A perfect example is theme as this is a common attribute in many categories. Let’s say you have an item that you want to define on your site as “country western”, to play well on ebay though you have to provide this Theme value as “Cowboy & Western” where Amazon wants you to provide it as just “western”. With each of these as separate sites in Magento you will have the option when adding your attributes to define this value separately for each site.

So in your current case even, you’d be able to define your magento site attribute to a user friendly version of say just “30” while defining the ebay site value to what it requires, which is likely to be something like “Days_30”?

Morning,

According to the API here http://developer.ebay.com/devz…..istingType and here http://developer.ebay.com/DevZ…..istingType it should be “FixedPriceItem”

As Chad’s mentioned above, when setting attributes in Magento to use onto eBay, they must follow eBay’s own code. Let’s take condition for example, M2E Pro make the options friendly by showing “New, Used” etc… but the real values to send to eBay are numbers like 1000, 15000 etc… (see here for referenced).

I have the daftest of questions, what did m2epro support say?

Hi Zalman,

Actually I’m with chad on this one as you could easily have separate policies and assign them to multiple listing groups in M2E pro.

Yes separate listings for Fixed price & Auction would work except it would be double the amount of listings.

And the idea of using M2e is efficiency and robust it would be a waste to do that and have to complicate things by making advanced searches to separate the Fixed Price from the Auction.

They asked for my login info and they are looking in to it.

Thanx for your help, Any other ideas please shoot my way.

Best regards,
Zalman

Ohhhh and by the way the different Magento views is a great idea.

But i still would need to know the code to use so i can list as Fixed Price

Thanx,

Hi Zalman,

Do let us know what they come back to you with, as I’m curious now to why it wasn’t working.

Hello!

At the moment if listing type is added from Magento attribute product will be listed as an auction.
New version which is to be released within 2-3 days will have this issue fixed.
As soon as you upgrade after release you will revise your items and the problem will be solved.
As soon as new version has been released you will get notification in Magento.

Best Regards,
M2E Pro Support Team.

Ah right so it was an M2E problem, not listing it as a fixed price. At least they know about it and the fix will be out in a couple of days.

Thanks for posting the reply Zalman!

Yeah, thanks. Good information to know! The guys over at M2e probably should have left off the option to use an attribute until it actually recognized the attribute :/ Sorry you had to go through that Zalman!
