Hello,

I am offering free domestic shipping (using Flat Cost type with $0 as cost) and (I think) need the package weight and dimensions to upload to eBay so they may calculate the shipping to international buyers for the Global Shipping Program. My products have very different weights and dimensions, so I believe I need to set up attributes for these for each product, but I cannot see a way to add these attributes in a Custom Value anywhere in the shipping settings/policy.

I see that M2E added the GSP option and I’ve enabled this setting.

Are there other solutions for offering free shipping and uploading package weight/dimensions in the eBay listing to be able to participate in GSP?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Kay
This sounds like an interesting problem, I would assume you need to measure and submit each package and not just save the dimensions of each product?

Dave and Jim, thank you so much for your replies! I kept digging and then contacted M2E support, who sent me great info that put me in the right direction.

The solution is the same as that for Calculated Shipping :) – Not Flat Cost…

In the Shipping Policy > Domestic Shipping, I had to select the Type as ‘Calculated..’ and set the mode to ‘Free’. This opened a section a little ways down the page titled ‘Package Details’. Then, I created attributes for ‘height’, ‘width’ & ‘length’ and ‘package_type’. The package_type attribute (which I may not have added – it may have already been a default attribute in Magento) needed 4 options, which are ‘PackageThickEnvelope’, ‘USPSLargePack’, ‘LargeEnvelope’ and ‘Letter’. I found these somewhere in the M2E Pro Guide… Okay, back to the Shipping Policy > Package Details section: Select Package Type as the Source and Custom Attribute as the Dimension Source, then on the next line titled Dimensions enter Height, Width and Length. Select Weight as your Weight Source. I also selected ‘Yes’ to ‘Offer Global Shipping Program’.

I added these attributes to my attribute sets and then added the dimensions and weight within each product. Now, my eBay listings reflect free shipping to domestic locations, that my products are eligible for GSP and have the weights and dimensions noted as required for GSP.

By the way – I love the UnderstandingE resources! I can’t imagine having to go through the process of transitioning to Magento/M2E without the wealth of knowledge that is bundled right here on this site. Well worth the Premium fee!
