eBay/Magento Inventory Synchronisation Issue

Hi,

M2E in magento and my eBay store does not seem to always be synchronising. The majority of the time it is OK and everything works fine, but there have been a couple of instances where customers have been able to buy products from my eBay store when we do not actually have them in stock.

M2E seems to be allowing products from my Magento store to be listed as in stock and available to buy from my eBay store when they have zero and out of stock inventory status in Magento.

Whilst this only happens occasionally it does mean that on the occasions it does happen we are having to disappoint customers, which has the potential to threaten our eBay feedback rating etc.

As far as I can see I have configured my M2E synch settings correctly as shown below in my screen shots.

Any advice or thoughts appreciated.

Howdy James,

The two things that stand out from those screenshots is the revision of descriptions in the 2nd & 3rd images.

If we think about this for a moment, over 95% of the size of an update (I’m thinking of the data that is transferred between M2E and eBay) will be because of the description contents, the rest of the data is pretty light. Maybe turning these off may help?

What I would also suggest is to grab the specific examples and chase them up with M2E Pro directly to see why they were out of sync.

Just adding in that Ive just found out todah that we are also having issues with sync.

Ive set some items to 0 stock but m2epro keeps on listing them on eBay. Ive deleted them from eBay and set them to stop in magento but M2Epro keeps listing them again.

Hi Calum,

If that’s the case, contact M2E Pro support with the details and get them to look at it for you, as that doesn’t sound right.

I use TSOHost, they are excellent and offer great support.

HI James

Yes TSOHOST are excellent, and the support is first rate. I didnt have an issue with them, it was just that the server we had, a VDS didnt have the performance we expected it to have.

We started out on a shared hosting with them and were surprised at how good it was performance wise for magento. But we wanted faster, so decided to get a VPS server, but were very disappointed that the performance was the same as we were getting on the shared hosting at a fraction of the price. Shared hosting yearly price was the same as the monthly price for the VPS.

So I had a look at simpleservers, and the back end when testing it out was far faster than what i was used to with our VPS, so decided to transfer over. WEbsite is small so doesnt need massive resources yer, but when it grows at least we are covered as well.

Ahhhh Calum, glad to hear it was something like that and not a problem with the install of M2E or your system :)
