hi
Given the new restrictions google is imposing to listings containing links to http resources which must now be https for security etc. When I list using m2epro my images are taken from my magento listings but they are still http urls. How can I make sure that the images are sent to eBay with urls starting with https?

thanks

andrew

My reply from a different thread:
see m2epro release notes: https://docs.m2epro.com/display/ReleaseNotes/M2E+Pro+Version+-+6.4.11
section: Ability to use secure content in the Custom Description
To set your preferences for secure link generating, navigate to System > Configuration > General > Web > Secure > Use Secure URLs in Frontend option. If the ‘Use Secure URLs in Frontend’ option is enabled, the content is sent using HTTPS.

The following users say thank you to Reichard for this useful post:

My ‘Use Secure URLs in Frontend’ option is enabled but my images are still showing in ebay as http. Anyone any ideas?

Is this still the case Alison? Have you had any further communication from M2E Pro?

Hi Dave yes I was guided to change a line (pasted below):

Hello,

For now, as a workaround to this situation, you should go to the file app\code\community\Ess\M2ePro\Model\Magento\Product.php

find method prepareImageUrl() and change the line below

return str_replace(‘ ‘, ‘%20’, $url);

to the following:

return str_replace(array(‘ ‘, ‘http://’), array(‘%20’, ‘https://’), $url);

This should help.

I now have issues with my images not showing in my Widget Chimp template. It seems you solve one thing and another problem occurs!! WC have said I need to contact M2e pro about it so I am waiting to hear back from them.

Oh god, nothing more annoying than when you fix one thing and then something else goes.

Thanks for sharing the fix from M2E, hopefully then can rectify the WC template issue soon too.
