HI,

I am in desperate need of urgent help having lost about 80% of my products on the frontend of my site.

I have 4 ‘attribute sets’ setup in admin;

arrtibutesImage Enlarger

Whilst inside the ‘underwear set’ I was trying to delete some unassigned attributes and inadvertently ended up deleting the entire ‘underwear attribute set’ and consequently lost all of my products front end that had been added to this attribute set.

To make matters worse when I contacted our host (TSO Host) they informed us that the daily backup that should have been running on our site had not been working and were only able to restore the DB to June 2013.

However, there is possibly some hope because TSO Host states there is reference to the products in various tables and also we only recently setup a mirror of our website in the form of a subdomain, so about 90% of the product I need to restore to my main website are showing in my subdomain.

Can anyone kindly advise me how I can either retrieve/restore the products I have lost or somehow migrate my products across from my sub-domain?

Thanks

Morning James,

That’s a little tricky, on your sub-domain is that a separate database where the items still exist?

It’s going to need skilled person with Magento & MySQL to get them back for you (perfectly possible because of the attribute set ID IF you have a backup with them in), my suggestion here would be oDesk.

Hi Matt,

I really appreciate you taking the time to reply on your Sunday.

I think I have found the solution with Magmi, which I took the excellent UnderstandingE crash course in yesterday.

I have used Dataflow to export all the products from my sub domain site and will try to import them in to the live site using Magmi.

I have successfully used Magmi to import the example files you include in the installation folder. However, when I try to import my product using my own spreadsheet I get the following error;

Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/gigglebe/public_html/magmi-importer/web/progress_details.php on line 23

At present I am trying to solve this by reverse engineering the issue importing a csv file with a new column one at a time. So far I have successfully been able to import test products with colums ‘sku’, ‘name’, ‘status’ and ‘color’

Thus, the above error code seem to be down to one of the column headers in my spreedsheet being incorrect.

What are you thoughts on my solution?

Cheers

James

Hi James,

Yea that error normally means that there is a required column missing.

Grab one of the example files from the importing images into Magento via Magmi tutorial here: http://understandinge.understa…..les-v2.zip and use that as a reference.

Also note that I still randomly got this message come up with imports, but with those headers the products still went in.

Does that help?

Matt
