Didn’t see mention of two important points for us :-
1. How we set an EAN for EACH Child product
2. How we associate a product image for EACH child product.
One of the types of product we sell is wool … so we can have one type of yarn (Parent Product) and many different shades of that type of wool (Child Products).
Each shade has its own EAN and its own photo.
Can this be done ?
Yes definitely both can be done!
The first is really easy, you just need to click into the child product and add in the EAN in the EAN field for that product. The EAN is an importable field which we will be covering in coming guides, to speed up the listing process, so that if you wanted to add products this way, you could add all the EAN’s in here. But yes definitely you can assign EAN’s to both parent and child products
The second again is relatively straight forward and we cover how to do this in this section of the guides which were released yesterday https://understandinge.com/guides/cml/variations-multi-variations/ Give those guides a watch and let us know if they help.
The quick answer is you set this option in the description policy within M2E Pro. There is an option called “Change Image for Attribute” and in your case you would most likely set ‘Colour’ in this field. Then each child image would be associated to that product within eBay.
Does that help answer your questions?
Every expert was once a beginner
Sure does; very helpful.
… also realised that we have another point to cover on Variation listings relating to VAT.
We also sell clothing (such as T-shirts) and Child sizes are VAT @ 0% whilst Adult sizes are VAT @ 20%.
Currently, on Ebay, we list many designs as being available in both Child and Adult sizes and the split out the VAT manually during our order processing.
Is it possible to have a different VAT class applying to some “Child” (Simple”) products within a “Parent” (Configurable”) product set ?
