How do I… set item description to “not required”. Currently when clicking into an item, the description has a red asterix which means it’s a required field. but I only want to use the bullet points, so how do I set the description so that it is not required?

Hi Ben

If you go into Catalog >> Attributes >> manage attributes then select the description attribute, in there you can set it to not required, this will remove the red asterisk

Hi Ben,

As an alternative, if you import   in the description this will get past the Magento filter.

Callum, you are a star sir. Thanks.

Matt, thanks for the tip when importing. That”ll be a handy tool for me when doing my imports for other listing groups.
