Hi,

I’ve installed the EAG extension via connect manager, flush cache and logged in/out but it hasn’t appeared in my catalog? It all looks ok in the magento connect panel and installed without problems – I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled but to no avail? Stumped!

Hmmmm this seems weird, I think I saw something else similar to this in the forums last week and it turned out to be a file permissions issue. Can you double check the file permissions that are set on your web hosting and then perhaps try and re-install?

It seems weird for both of the extensions to do the same thing which makes me think it’s a system/hosting issue. The permissions would be my first port of call.

Let us know how you get on Alex

Hi Dave,

I’ll try the file permissions – do you know which I should be checking for this or is there a reference within one of the guides?

Cheers

Hi Alex not sure if i’m being honest.

There was this post from a few days ago which seems like a similar prob https://understandinge.com/forum/amazon-integration-questions/installation-problems-with-m2e-pro/

As Matt suggested shoot Simple Servers a ticket and see if they can help sort this for you, as they did this for us pretty quick.

Cheers

Hi Dave,

Had a word and they shot me this guide:

https://www.simpleservers.co.uk/clients/whmcs/knowledgebase/24/How-to-resolve-the-file-permissions-error-in-Magento-Connect-Manager.html

Seems like it’s more or less fixed now (extensions installed, appearing in admin backend) but m2epro is now not appearing in magento connect! I’m guessing this will be an issue in the future for upgrading?

Cheers for the input!

Oh fantastic Alex, thanks for sharing that Simple Servers Guide, that will come in handy for others who run into similar probs.

Glad that has got it, and now M2E isnt showing in Connect, but it is installed fine on your system? Hmmm this could potentially cause problems with upgrading, I’d be termpted to try to re-install if you have tried clearing caches etc and it still hasn’t appeared

Hi Dave,

Asked Simple Servers about it and they responded with the following:

If the admin area is showing then the extension is installed.

It is normal for not all extensions to show in magento connect

First off, some terminology

A Module is logic collection of PHP classes and configuration files that are designed to interact with Magento in a specific way.

A Magento Connect package is a collection arbitrary PHP file that can be installed into Magento system

A Magento Connect package can contain Modules, but may also contain other PHP files which get installed into your system.

Magento Connect doesn’t know anything about the Modules that have been installed into your system. It only knows about packages. If you’ve installed some Yoast modules, Magento Connect doesn’t know anything about them. This is the normal state of affairs in the Magento ecosystem.

Install the Module List Module via Magento Connect. and this will give you full lists of extensions and modules.

Cheers
