Change the order process that magento follows

Magento for some reason does not follow normal procedure.

You order online.
You pay – should state processing – actually says complete
We pack order and change state to shipped
4 days later order changed to complete.

That is what I would love to happen.

Matt do we know how we can change this to actually seem logical? And also can we update in bulk from processing to shipped?

Hi Dom,

Hold off on that one, for a few pounds more you can get ShipEasy, it does way more than just changing the order statues as well.

Hi Matt

The other does stuff I dont need. I really just need to be able to change the status of an order in bulk. From processing to shipped and hope that the system sends an email out to customer.

I’d love to be able to print picking slips when the order comes in, but for some reason i have to “Ship” before I can print picking slips, I think its a pain having to go into each order and clicking ship, surley you should be able to pick/ship in one go.

Hi Dom
I’ve been using “Simplify Bulk Order Processing” from xtento and it is perfect for my needs. If you need more than one extension from xtento it may be worth asking for a discount before you make the purchase.

In Magento you can setup an email that is sent everytime you receive an order.

System>Config>Sales:Sales Emails

If you have a web connected printer you config the email sent to be a packing slip and also have the address on it.

With us as soon as an order is processed and paid for it sends an email to our printer. The paper is already laid out in correct format and preprinted. At the bottom we have the postage and whats needed to send. We had it custom built to fill in the correct details. It sorts out the products in the correct order that we need to pick the products, and then prints out the address and acts as packing sheet as well to send to the customer.

We pack what is needed taking out any orders we cannot send that day, then mass change status of our orders to shipped when it gets collected by the postman.

I so hope that makes sense.

Howdy Steve,

Yep which is why we need the tutorials for ShipEasy & PickPack doing as fast as we can, because they’ll get around this and do everything that was mentioned above and more.
