It would be great to have a guide on the typical steps required for moving to Magento from third parties such as Channel Advisor, Linnworks, Channel Grabber etc. When to switch off what, and a recap of setting up 3rd party syncs, mapping and cron jobs. Mentions of best practice such as doing a stock take after, best times to migrate etc. would also be great!

Hi Alex

I can definitely see why a guide like this would be useful. However it would be very difficult to have guides for each of the existing software providers, and also due to how businesses vary such as some have supplier feeds, different couriers, international selling setups. It could get deep very quickly.

We would need to think about what the core process would be, such as export inventory—>export orders—>import inventory to Magento—> mapping etc and making sure we got this process right, as we can’t afford for anything to go wrong at this stage, with your business.

The other thing we have to be careful of is to ensure that orders don’t get stuck between the switch. It’s a complex one but I’ll see what we can come up with

Dave
