Using Simple servers Installatron is simple enough to have schedules backups daily and to make a custom restore point prior to an extension upgrade, etc. It’s also easy to restore a backup.
However, this takes you back entirely, including losing customer, catalog and sales orders since the backup.
I’ve not looked into it yet as we are still quite a bit away from going live, but knowing which tables not to restore to retain that data would be useful. Or if it’s not particularly simple, looking at contingency should something catastrophic happen and you’re left with data that is 24 hours old. How does that work with resending orders re-downloading, triggering duplicated transactional emails etc.
Basically if you restore an old version of the site with M2E Pro enabled, then it’s going to pull down the orders that had previously been downloaded.
There is going to be a disparity between what has and has not been processed which will need looking at by yourself and for emails, those can be temporarily disabled in configuration settings. Also stopping the cron job for a short period of time would be suggested to allow you to make any such changes.
Most likely there are other things that need to be consider too.
