I’ve been trying to create a new lisitng in magento to list variations products under, with the vaiation “weight”.

I’ve created an attribute called “config_weight”.

I’ve created an attribute set called “weight”. In this attribute set I’ve created a folder called “Configurable Attributes”, and have added the attribute “config_weight” to this folder.

The problem I have is when I am in the listing settings>Images & Watermark>Change Images for Attribute…. There is no option here to select “weight”. I only have colour, style, length etc.

Have I missed something here?

Do you have other attribute sets that you have not added the weight attributes to? I seem to remember someone having issues until they went back and added the attributes to all sets.

HI Simon, I’ve not added the weight attribute to any other attribute sets.

haha, I was thinking of other attributes.

I’ve got configurables working here, but it’s so difficult to help without comparing side-by-side

@SimonY

I believe you are trying to create variations with weight as the variation attribute.

From what I gather, you can’t select the weight as option.

When you setup the attribute, did you make it “global” and check the option for the attribute to be used to make configurable options?

Hey @Ben

I think @Hikertommy is right here, have you made sure the attribute was set to global?

Hi simony and dave, thanks for the advice. I just checked “Attribute Properties” for the weight attribute, and scope is already set to to “global” and “Use To Create Configurable Product” is set to “Yes”

I think these are the 2 you refering to Simon, which are already set as you suggested, unless there’s another one i should check?

Hey Ben

I’m gonna check with Matt to see if we are missing something obvious here…I think we must be!

thanks Dave, let me know what he says. Ask him about my tax settings from my other post as well if you can. Matt has login details for my magento so he’s welcome jump in and take a quick look for either issue if he wants.
