As i cannot find an area to post problems/bugs/anomolies, I guess i will post here until i get shouted out.

Has any one else had any issues with the final value fee for transactions see attached files.

Ebay says final fee is 49p (39p for final fee & 10p for postage)
M2EPRO says ebay fees are 43p

This is the reply i got from M2EPRO

The last line is the best!!

Hello, User.
Magento order is created basing on information of eBay order. The data is correct:

http://awesomescreenshot.com/0462tc5bca
M2E does not effect creating eBay orders. It just imports them and creates Magento orders basing on the information received.
If some data in the Bay order is incorrect, you should check your listing setting or (and) settings done directly on eBay.

Hi Steve,

I read something similar in their feature requests a while back about this. M2EPro shows these values, but the values are incorrect.

Now I’m pretty sure that M2E didn’t make these values up when creating the order, so they will have come from eBay as they suggest and also I remember the fees being wonky at eSellerPro, but that was quite some time ago.

Not sure how helpful my reply is :/

its a bit annoying because they are basically saying that they only put into m2pro what is in ebay but that is obviously incorrect. i do find m2epro support needs to be asked simple questions in plain english so i have batted it back to them with the question

please can you tell me why the ebay final fee is different to the m2epro ebay final fee.

However when i have done that sort of thing before they tend to just ignore the mail and close the call.

Hi Steve,

The easiest way of getting to the bottom of this is if I call the eBay API for you on that order and see what we get back in their response.

I would need your explicit permission to do this, the item number and the buyer ID and an account creating with the eBay token here https://widgetchimp.com/tools/register (The item ID and buyer ID, if you’d like me to do this, send them over via email )

I keep away from listing & order management with eBay, but the API calls are pretty straight forwards to make and seeing I’ve just done something similar for Matt in the premium forums, the longest part of doing this was me finding my testing functions code in the first place.

Matt.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the email.

Yep it’s eBay that is wrong and are sending incorrect values across with the orders. I knew I had seen this before, so just take those fees with a pinch of salt.

Do you think there is any mileage in speaking to ebay to see If they will fix it.

Hi Steve,

You’re welcome to raise it with them, although considering I had seen it back at eSellerPro (4 years ago), it’s doubtful we’ll see any change on it anytime soon.

Hi Matt

It was one of my posts i had a major disagreement with the M2E Pro guys and still disagree with them.

The figure that M2E Pro shows is fees minus VAT they say that is what everybody wants (i do not think so)
But the Paypal figure they show is VAT inclusive!!! so work that one out.
I asked them as a compromise to show both figures eBay Fee VAT Excl £1.00 VAT .20p Total Fee £1.20

They said no it is not what customers want! I disagree i do not know many sellers who want to see eBay Fees without VAT but want Paypal with VAT.

I was going to put it up for a vote but didn’t think may members were bothered.

Both values would be good. I wonder how many people actually know the figures are wrong. With my business the profit is very low so the difference in figures matter. At the moment I have to go into ebay and check each item periodically and it’s a pain

Hi Steve

I agree most people do not know it is wrong
This was what i told them also if you have both figures you can export or run reports to extract data showing eBay and Paypal fees in what ever format you need.

At the end of the day it would cover everybody to show both figures. If there is enough interest we could get a vote going on it.

A vote would be good. Maybe an email with a subject of “Did you know your eBay fees are incorrect” would get people’s attention. Coming from a development background I know that it would not be difficult to implement the change

Howdy Dale, All,

If the fees are incorrect coming back from eBay (which they have been for quite some time now) only using them as a guide is suggested as M2E are showing what they’re given from eBay and only would be able to show a true value by reconciling the eBay transaction details to the order (which would mean a hefty decrease in order collection time or posting an order update post the order being created).

To be honest, I’d personally rather they focus on other things (such as this change request) as the best place for billing details are from the billing reports.

Matt
Note: With Amazon this is ni-on impossible too as the transactions only appear once a billing report is ready, which happens every few weeks.

HI Matt

The fees are not incorrect they are fees without VAT added as i mentioned above. But the Paypal are with VAT added that is my point it would be easy for M2E Pro to show all figures.

Howdy Dale,

We’re going to have to agree to disagree on this one, I’d much rather the images on multi variations get nailed first :)

Hi Matt

I think we are speaking at cross purposes i have no issue leaving it as it is, in fact that is what i did to get better fixes pushed through. I was only adding to the post to remind you and update the other forum user of the previous history with this issue. I agree images is more important i have no sway either way what is done with it.
Just trying to help Steve understand what had gone on previous.
