I’m having problems getting the M2E cron job to run automatically. Set it up as a scheduled task but have a “not working” message in M2E pro. Could it be file permisions on CRON.php? Thanks

Hi Greg,

What have you used to setup the cron? Also which version of Magento are you running as there is a bug in 1.8 and 1.8.1

Hi Chris
I have Magento ver. 1.8.1.0
The cron job was set up through scheduled tasks in my control panel
I used the code from M2E help page “php -q /var/www/vhosts etc…” also tried a couple of different methods sugested by my hosting provider (/usr/bin/php httpdocs/cron.php and curl –silent –output /dev/null…etc
Thanks
Greg

Hi, If you open up cron.php and comment out lines 47 & 48 then insert the code shown in the 3rd line below it should work.

//$isShellDisabled = is_array($disabledFuncs) ? in_array(‘shell_exec’, $disabledFuncs) : true;
//$isShellDisabled = (stripos(PHP_OS, ‘win’) === false) ? $isShellDisabled : true;
$isShellDisabled = true; // force old style scheduling.

Are you setting the cron task through cpanel or direct admin?

Go to your magento backend then goto sell on ebay tab and select help. You will get the command from in there with the link to your cron command. try that and see if it works

GET command: GET http://yourwebsite/cron.php

Hi Greg,

If you’re 100% sure you’ve set it correctly, shoot M2E Pro a support query as we had this last year and they added an updated cron file for us.

Can you please elaborate, so others (like me) can learn what was done to resolve this issue?
I’m facing the same issue… :-(

Hi Yaniv
I am not on simply servers and my hosting company sorted it out. The cron job is run by a curl command from “scheduled task” in my hosting package.

This is the command that I have is: curl –silent –output /dev/null http://www.———-.co.uk/cron.php

http://www.———-.co.uk/cron.php should be the path to cron.php in your hosting package. I am not overly techie and would not know if this will work for you I am affraid.
