Excellent

Hi there,
I have just installed M2E Pro and have been working my way through the tutorials.
I can not find in which tutorial it shows you how to add an eBay Product Name to Magento along with the standard Magento Product Name.
If someone could let me know how I do this I would appreciate it.
Also, also I have noted overnight, the sales from eBay have gone into my Magento Ordering System, but as well as this, it is also now showing the item from eBay as an item in my magento store.
EG: in store I have Loom bands, and on eBay I have the same item titled 300 Loom Bands. Now when I do a product search BOTH these items are showing in magento. Is this right? As this would mean that all my products would come up in Magneto twice?
Any insight would be fantastic, thanks

Howdy Stacey,

This could mean two things to me, so I’ll cover them both :)
If you mean the eBay custom title or stock number (or SKU) this is populated in the SKU field in Magento and is what M2E Pro sends to eBay.
If you’re meaning the ePID (eBay Product Reference ID), then you’ll need to set this up as a custom attribute (a suggestion on the attribute name would be att_eby_epid) and then assign this in your description policy ( Sell on eBay > Configuration > Policies tab > Click on the description policy being used and it’s under the section called “eBay Catalog Identifier”).
Also, also I have noted overnight, the sales from eBay have gone into my Magento Ordering System, but as well as this, it is also now showing the item from eBay as an item in my magento store.

The orders will be appearing as you have a cron setup and have set M2E Pro to collect orders Sell on eBay > Configuration > Synchronization tab ). M2E Pro has also created the product in your Magento site as well, the reason for this is because the new item you created in Magento hasn’t been mapped to the eBay listing.
You can do this in Sell on eBay > Listings and then click on the 3rd Party tab.
Does that help you Stacey?

Hi Matt,
Thanks for the response, sorry I am the ultimate non tech head here.
In the Installing & Configuring M2E Pro, tutorial 5 – Adding products to M2E tutorial at 9.57 minutes in, you show us that you get an error message as you haven’t competed the eBay Title, you also show on your screen eBay subtitle, SKU, website title etc.
This is what I am wanting to add, is this what you mean by setting the Attributes in Policy Tab, as I had this as something different.
With the orders, I will have a look at this now to see if it makes sense once I am looking at the screen :)
Thanks Matt

Hi Matt,
I am in the Sell on eBay > Listings and then click on the 3rd Party tab, but there is no information here?
Does this mean that each time an item sells on eBay, it will create the item in my magento – catalogue – manage products section? I note that this only shows the product in my backend and not front end, but will this not become very resource heavy if it continues?
Is there a way to stop the product from being recreated in magento?
thanks again, sorry I am working through the tutorials (which are fantastic) but am just getting stuck on the small things :)
Hey Stacey
Just going to jump in here as Matt is currently unable to log in to the site LOLOLOL (shouldn’t laugh really :) )
Ok if you head over to Sell on eBay > Configuration > Account settings > Click your account > Then the Third Party listings tab on the left. Make sure that import 3rd part listings is set to No
Also check Sell on eBay > Configuration > Synchronisation tab to see what settings you have set up here.
I am pretty sure it will be one of these settings which will be causing the inventory to be created.
And yes, totally agree having dual inventory not only will get annoying but would needlessly clog up your system too.
Have a check over those settings and let me know how you get on

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the response. Found the culprit, it was the Sell on eBay > Configuration > Synchronisation tab set as Yes. I have changed this now. Thank you!
Also just reposting this as I think it was missed.

Morning Stacey,
There was an issue yesterday with the core router in the datacentre where SimpleServers have our site hosted, caused some blackouts, Dave could get in but not me, so took the chance to do some other tasks.
I’m back now though :)
Daft question, did you already have Magento installed? See this Magento course https://understandinge.com/magento-tutorial/getting-started/ and tutorials 18 & 19.

Hi Matt,
Yes I already had Magento, I have been using it for the last 2yrs, but haven’t really used any of its features so looking forward to getting more out of it.
I will have a look at the Tut’s now.
Thanks :)

Howdy Stacey,
Ah ha that makes sense now. We add in several new attributes for the marketplaces, so its easy to separate the data out just for them.
