I’m using WidgetChimp and trying to get custom images from magento/M2ePro into eBay.

There is a comment in code:

/* #4 – Optional: If you have no listing tool, put your image urls between the "", eg "http://path.to/my/image.jpg" */
var ImageGalleryArray=new Array("");

I can use variables instead of image.jpg, which are saved uder magento attributes. Let’s say:
#images_1#
#images_2#
#images_3#
etc.

It perfectly works if I put these variables inside ImageGalleryArray array

As soon as each product has all 3 images defined, all images will be uploaded to eBay. But in case they are not all there:

images_1=image_one.jpg
images_2=image_twojpg
image_3=

On eBay 2 images will be desplayed correctly and the third image like a broken one: https://path.to/my/image_one.jpg, https://path.to/my/image_two.jpg and the third image: http://path.to/my/ (because it’s attribute is empty).

The question is how to exclude the empty attributes? As I see it’s an javascript, but I can’t use any if queries there.

Hi Alex,

The simple answer to this is… not easily.

There isn’t a sane way of checking if the image URL that has been entered into the gallery is a valid image or not.

Yes we could do some regex to check for the file extensions, but that would be flakey at best (because some images don’t always end in the common file extensions and may have ?d=0 for example if dropbox.

Also this is compounded by M2EPro having no logic testing on Magento attributes (this was a request I made in Jan 2014).

However maybe a simple solution would be to instead of adding just the image names, include the full URL to the image instead. That way if the image attribute is blank, it will come out as blank in the template.

Also a side note here is that by not using the media gallery in Magento, is that later on if you decide to use a CDN (maybe because you’re using a lot of bandwidth or want a faster loading Magento site), those images won’t be updated because they’re set as separate attributes. See here for a tutorial on whata CDN is and how to set one up.

Hope that helps!

Matt

Hi Alex,

I’m not sure I understand the question properly, if you wish to upload smaller images, just resize them and use those instead.
