Hi,

I have edited the listing template in my M2E Description Policy as I want to call the product image using a different source that I set up as an attribute (ebay_image), but my listing on ebay does not seem to be fetching the image – http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MANs…..23370f51fe

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi James,

Ah I see.

The #media_gallery# is a special keyword, in your instance you’re looking to pull the image from a attribute, so you’ll need to add the image html to make it show.

Something like this will be pretty close:

<img src="#ebay_image#" width="350" />

Hi Matt,

I am still a bit confused. All of my other templates work when I use this code;

<td
style="vertical-align: middle; height: 416px; width: 350px; text-align: center;"
rowspan="12"><br>
<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">#image[350,416,1,0]#</span><br>
<br>
</td>

But as soon as I change the #image[350,416,1,0]# to #ebay_image[350,416,1,0]# as in the code below it does not work and I do not understand why I need to use the HTML you suggest when the other templates work using the above method. Essentially all I have done is changed the attribute name from image to ebay_image

<div style="text-align: justify;"><span
style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><small> Men’s fitted
trunks and boxers come in a multitude of styles and
designs, and often the terminology used to describe them varies from
one
brand to the next. Generally speaking though the
fabric used to manufacture men’s trunks contains a quantity of elastane
that gives them a close fitting look and consequently they can often be
described as having a ‘second skin’ look to
them for this reason, unlike a loose fitting baggy
boxer short.</small></span><br>
<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><small>
</small></span><br>
<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><small>This
style of men’s underwear will nearly always </small><small>feature a
square cut leg, which in itself can result in
further use of different teminologies to describe the style.</small></span>
<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><small>Underwear
with longer leg lengths of at about 3 or 4 inches or more is generally
referred to as a trunk or boxer (fitted trunk or boxer) and that with a
shorter leg lengths of about 2 inches or less being referred to as a
boxer brief for the simple reason that the much shorter leg often makes
them look like a hybrid, or cross between both a traditional fitted
boxer and a brief.</small></span> <br>
<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"></span><br>
<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><small>Common
amongst all of these styles is the fact that they will nearly always
feature some form of integrated pouch at the front. This can sometimes
be engineered in to the front of the garment so that it sculpts and
supports the anatomy more purposefully and prominently than other
designs. Consequently, this can give the front a look that is closer to
that of the pouch seen in the traditional brief style of underwear and
thus make the description of a boxer brief being more accurate.</small></span><br>
<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"></span><br>
<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><small>The
waist of fitted trunks and boxers can also vary with some having a low
rise waist so
that they fit low on the hip. This has consequently led to some styles
being called a hipster for this reason. </small></span><br>
<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"></span><br>
<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><small>Additionally,
fitted boxers
and trunks can come in a variety of fabrics. Some of the most popular
choice of fabrics include cotton rich materials that offer a soft
natural feel to them, smooth delicate microfibers that provide a second
skin feel and also sheer mesh and semi transparent fabrics.</small></span><br>
<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"></span><br>
<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"></span><span
style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;"><small>It can also
seem a bit confusing and so here is a quick reminder of some of the
common features to fitted boxers and trunks;</small></span><br>

Hmmmm,

It works now I have added the code you suggested Matt;

<img src="#ebay_image#" width="350" />

Still confused why my other templates work without this code and when I use;

<td
style="vertical-align: middle; height: 416px; width: 350px; text-align: center;"
rowspan="12"><br>
<span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;">#image[350,416,1,0]#</span><br>

Hi James,

You mentioned that you have the image in an attribute, not in the images section within Magento, so the normal image tags/keywords/variables won’t work.

So to pull the value of the attributer out you need to call the attribute it’s name/internal code using #ebay_image# and put this in the HTML to make it display.

See this video guide for a basic eBay listing template https://understandinge.com/tutorial/ltm-0003/ in your case you can’t or are not using the normal media gallery option.

Does that make sense?
