The listing template builder uses the #media_gallery# keyword from Magento, so if the simple product images are not on the configurable product that you listed, they won’t show in the image gallery.
So if you’d like for them to show add the them to the configurable product as the easiest option.
Also as a heads up I’ve got a task on the whiteboard for version 2 of the WidgetChimp template builder to pull the images directly in from eBay. I coded the API calls while obtaining some other info so it’s 100% possible, I just need to make them pretty for you :)
I had a play around with a few options for the gallery this morning, needs a couple of days or more until I make a decision on which path to take, as it will define what I can and cannot do for you later on.
That makes sense, it’s just that if I add the images to the configurable product as well as the simple images, you get duplicated images in the eBay listing.
No big deal though, and great news about pulling them directly in from the listing
I’ve prototyped this and got really close to the final dynamic image gallery, it’s touch sensitive and also responsive too.
Just popped an email over for a live item number to test with here.
This is now available as I finished the responsive image gallery off over the weekend (was tied to some other things I wanted to do, so took quite a while to get in).
You will need to use the “Get Listing Template” button again to grab the updated code so that it works in your listings.
PS. It’s responsive, it’s touch friendly, has a full screen mode and…. will take the variation images from eBay as well as the main images that you have in the eBay gallery.
