Hi there,

I am new to M2E Pro and I just need some help.
Can someone please explain what the “Inventory Synchronization” setting does under the Synchronization tab in eBay M2E configuration.

The explanation box says the following: “Updates and synchronizes eBay Listings according to Synchronization Policies’ Rules”

Does this mean that the only listings which will be updated and synchronized on eBay are the ones that were created in Magento and listed on eBay with M2E? or Will this try to update and synchronize my current existing listings on eBay too? (I have not imported any 3rd Party Listings)

I’m just concerned about messing up my existing listings, which I do not what to touch at all, I want to leave them exactly the way the are for the time being. If there is anything else that I should be aware about in relation to possibly affecting my existing eBay listings while using M2E, please let me know.

Thank you for help.

Hi Dimitri,

Have you gone through all of M2E tutorials?

I’m just concerned about messing up my existing listings, which I do not what to touch at all, I want to leave them exactly the way the are for the time being. If there is anything else that I should be aware about in relation to possibly affecting my existing eBay listings while using M2E, please let me know.

You can control or manage all of your ebay listings by creating a “listing group”
I’d advise you to check our guides. Here are the tutorials to guide you:

https://understandinge.com/lesson/aa-003/
https://understandinge.com/lesson/vmv-0003/
https://understandinge.com/lesson/cbt-010/
https://understandinge.com/lesson/cbt-009/

Can someone please explain what the “Inventory Synchronization” setting does under the Synchronization tab in eBay M2E configuration.
The explanation box says the following: “Updates and synchronizes eBay Listings according to Synchronization Policies’ Rules”

This forces the inventory updates between Magento and eBay.

Hope that helps

Cheers,
Badeth

Hi Badeth, thank you for your reply.

I am currently going through the tutorial, and just wanted to know if the inventory synchronization can overwrite/delete all my existing listings on eBay and replace them with the ones that were listed using M2E pro? or would it only update the listings which were listed using M2E pro and not affect the current existing listings on eBay?

Is it possible that M2E pro can delete or update listings that were created on eBay and that are not imported in to magento and M2E pro?

I hope that makes sense, I’m just trying to get a clear understanding if using M2E pro to list new items on to eBay, can possible affect or delete my existing listings on eBay, which I really do not want to happen.

Thank you for your help

Best Regards
Dmitri

Hi Guys,

So are you able to just confirm that by following the m2e guides installation and listings, will not affect any of my existing listings like overwrite, delete or make changes in anyway possible?

I just need to clear this concern so I can continue with the guides.

I would really appropriate this confirmation.

Thank you for all your help.

Dmitri.

If you follow our guides Dmitiri exactly as we show you then they will not affect your existing listings

Thank you Dave, appreciate the help.

Am I right in thinking that unless the eBay items (3rd party items) are imported in Magento and M2E there is no way that M2E can overwrite or delete them on eBay?

Sorry for all these questions, just trying to get a better understanding.

Thank you for your help.

It is when you do the sync that things can go funky. That;s why we recommend using the WidgetChimp Export My Listings tool to run an export from eBay, and then do the import into Magento. This ensures that all of the data is exactly how it is in eBay and therefore no worries of overwriting things or losing sales ranking

Thank you Dave,

So as long as I don’t import third party listings using M2E, there should be no issues?

Many Thanks
