I have linked M2ePro to my Ebay account gone through cong wizard.

So this is what i see as a user after sync

My Catalogue gets populated with 12 items at random from Ebay but i had about 34 when i did the sync!!!
I had 14 orders which related to the few items brought into my catalogue but have 100’s of orders!!!
None of my items had SKU’ in Ebay so not sure which system has applied these on syns!
The latest order the Lego set is not even in my Catalogue!
The 3rd Party Listings which M2ePro staff help me with have come through again with weird SKU’s
None of the 3rd Party have been added to the Catalogue, it is asking to map but nothing to map to.
Sales in M2EPro look correct but not dealing with cancelled orders

So i understand the mapping issue but where did the SKU titles get added not from me so its either Magento or M2Epro?
Why was there only 12 random listings brought over?
Why does orders in M2Epro & Magento not sync so they are the same?

I know i have still a lot to learn but i feel i have a disjointed set of records.
I have partial / random imports from Ebay with orders that don’t match.
3rd Party Listings that are not put into Catalogue
Also when i have corrected the SKU’s they don’t get updated in orders.

So is there a way i can remove all these and start again to see if it syncs correctly ( i know wait till the videos come out)?
I am no expert in Magento/ M2EPro but i was running a Wordpress E-Commerce site for 6 years with relative ease.

I have moved over due to the potential of you’re addon & Magento but feel confused on what is being brought over and what is not.

It am sorry for the long post but just want to get it correctly running and syncing.

Hi Dale,

I think the confusion is stemming from the fact that M2E Pro does not make inventory record sin Magento for the received orders.

M2E Pro will only sync products on eBay that you have other created and listed yourself from Magento or have mapped using the 3rd party listings tab and have mapped to specific inventory records.

Does that make sense?

Hi Matt / Dave

Not really this is were i am very confused as i said 12 products from 36 have dropped into my Managed Products (which was blank before i installed M2EPro) and i had not run 3rd Party Listings by then. I have now run 3rd Party Listings 30 items show up on that tab but nothing has been added to my Managed Products.

All the SKU’s were corrupt no idea how these got added as i never used SKU’s in EBay so it is as clear as mud!!!

I had not put any products into Magento myself!

Does not make any sense i have read the pages on help but it is not behaving like it is described. I was under the impression Magmi had to be used to import listings. So no idea how 12 random item appeared in my Managed Products with a few orders!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Dale,

In that case, this is one for M2E Pro support.

Hi guys,

Having a couple of slight issues with the m2e pro mapping/sync as well. I have not created any products in magento yet but m2e pro has automatically imported the listings for which i have had recent sales on. After a few weeks I had accumulated around 500 3rd party products from around 1500 available on ebay, each new sale adding a new record. Went back to look at the records a few days ago and they are all gone.
Also, a few random sales mapped themselves to the wrong product even although i have not created any products. I didn’t pick up on this until my customers informed me they received the wrong item. A lot of my SKU’s all start the same but only have different endings so I’m guessing this has caused a few issues with some kind of auto mapping. I really have no idea though, it could be me doing something wrong as the current M2E instructions are not the clearest. Looking forward to reading some of these guides to understand the workings behind M2E pro a little better.

Hi Chris,

Me & Dave are very much looking forward to publishing them.

In the guides we assume two things, you have an eBay business and a basic understanding of Excel. Besides that we start from there and work upwards, how to choose a domain name, webhosting, installing Magento, getting used to Magento and so on….

The approach we’re taking is Crawl > Walk > Run, the thing is it feels like we’re learning to crawl putting the guides together and we’re both super chuffed with what we’ve already created, but know we’ll end up coming back and redoing them all again at a later date :)

Not long now, another kilo of coffee ordered, just finished the Magmi installer script and looking good for January 1st, yay!

I have finally found out my issues re sync issues which isn’t well documented M2Epro on drags in 10 days before you sign up in orders and pulls therm in and creates products. This is not a good idea if you have variations in your products as it only drags in the variation part of the product. To be honest i would not use the map to catalogue function. Also i have reported that the Ebay Fees added to your order sheet are all wrong they do not match the true figures so users need to be wary of this.

Question time
1. If you have tiered pricing setup on a product not sure that can be transferred to Ebay (i might be wrong).
2. I know you have the product listed in Magento Cats in a format that is picked up my policy template in M2ePro for popping on Ebay / Amazon. But can you have a different price / postage structure on your Mag Website that is listed for Ebay?

Hi Chris,

Hope you had a fab Christmas.

To answer your questions :)

1. If you have tiered pricing setup on a product not sure that can be transferred to Ebay (i might be wrong).

Errrrrr no idea. I’ve not tried this and not sure how it would work.

Also there is not a sniff of this in their documentation either, so might be worth trying one listing to see what happens and which price is selected.

2. I know you have the product listed in Magento Cats in a format that is picked up my policy template in M2ePro for popping on Ebay / Amazon. But can you have a different price / postage structure on your Mag Website that is listed for Ebay?

Yes!!

The Magento website shipping prices is separate to that used for the marketplaces through M2E.

Ironically this is a has been an issue for us with order processing extensions as 3rd party developers just don’t seem to get the idea that the shipping cost for an item didn’t come from Magento‘s shipping rules, instead it’s come from what the customer chose on eBay or Amazon.

Does that help you?

Hi Dale,

Not Chris, whoops, had two windows open at the same time, apologies.

For Question 2, yes.

As a heads up what you can do right now is either separate common products out into their own listing groups. What I mean by this is that if you have say 10 products that share the same shipping options, create a new M2E listing group and assign the rules to just that group. OR keep your default listing group, then when you list products to eBay, set different shipping rules for them when you list them.

A HUGE tip here would to be make sure that you save the different shipping rules as a policy, that will make updating them at a later date much easier. For example if you wanted to change the shipping prices you would go to Sell on eBay > Configuration > Policies > Find the poiciy you wish to update & then edit it.

M2E will kick in and make the changes to the live listings on the next revision pass (assuming that you have these included in your synchronization rules).

Hi Matt

Yep already done that i just copied mine from Ebay it’s a shame M2ePro cannot pull them in????

Ebay PoliyImage Enlarger

M2ePro PoliciesImage Enlarger

i am coming out of the wilderness about 80% there about both sides Magento – M2Epro.

I need to know when and how they are talking to one another. Magento store is easy but i have already had duplicate listings appearing on Ebay.

So looking forward to the videos to help me on my final 20% trip from the wilderness.
Sync rules i have not got to yet

Hi Dale,

Just taken a look in my eBay account and I see what you’re referring to.

I believe this is just a case of duplication as part of the process of migrating to a tool that can manage these policies for you. With that in mind, I’d suggest that you put these policies in Magento/ M2E because this is where they are going to be managed from in the future.

Does that make sense/help you?

Hi Matt

I think you can turn off Ebay policies in Ebay, and if you set them up in M2EPro i guess that is the way forward.
