Is it possible to list my products via M2E to specific catagories in my Ebay Store?
I have searched the forums but could not find an answer,i think maybe i have missed something when viewing the excellent videos.
Thank You,Graham

Hey Graham

We actually don’t have any Categories set up in our ‘Osoyou’ eBay account which is why you have not seen them, however you can set these up in M2E Pro.

You can find some basic information here: http://docs.m2epro.com/display…..Categories although it is a bit out of date.

This is perhaps more useful: http://support.m2epro.com/know…..-attribute You basically set up a custom attribute for eBay store category and set this in the Sell on Ebay configuration area. Then for your products you can fill in the ebay store ID (number not the name) and this will put the product into the category.

Does that help?

Howdy Graham,

Just to add to that, we actually do have a couple set up and they’re set at the time you list the product when selecting a category.

Hi Guys, many thanks for the replies.
Configured a new attribute called att_eby_category,then added to attribute sets.
Then had a look in the Sell on Ebay Configurationn for a product and in the ‘Second Primary’ category section i clicked on Magento attribute and in the list was my new ebay category, which i selected.I then went to my manage products and input the numerical category id in my new section.
I just need now to upload some products later today when i have them ready, fingers crossed it works.
I am so glad i have found your site it has been invaluable in understanding Magento, thank you.
I currently run a Magento Go site and i am looking forward to your Magento Website Guides so that i can migrate to the Community Edition.
Thanks again,brilliant.

Hi

Can this be used as well to allocate products to a specific ebay category outside of your shop categories?

Hi Dom,

If you’re meaning using a Magento attribute for the eBay categories 1 & 2 then yes it can be.

The M2EPro team say that you shouldn’t do this, however with your amount of inventory I’d probably suggest that you do as with that amount you’ll be importing a lot and probably have an external source of data that you can leverage.

This is what I did last year with 61,000 products and it worked amazingly well.

It does come with some downsides through. When you go to list a new listing in M2E because you’re now using a Magento attribute you won’t get the suggested attributes to use, so you’ll need to know the key eBay item specifics for that category to do well on eBay.

Does that help you Dom?

Sort of,

what i was thinking of would be to

have an attribute that leads the category to the specific shop category and
have an attribute that leads to a specific ebay category

as the shop category would be easy to sort out, and then as we only use a few ebay categories

Would that work?

Hi Dom,

Just checked with Dave too, we’re both confused, can you explain a little further for us?

ok I have to put a product in

1. The correct ebay category
2. The correct store category

So can I use

ebay_store_id attribute for the store id
and ebay_category_id attribute for where the listing is on eBay

and is it just the relevant number I need to put in.

Hi

Where are you able to associate the store category?

Have managed to setup a sandbox store site, but cannot seem to find where I need to sort out the shop category page?

Any suggestions?

Hi Dom,

If you’ve just added the store categories, we need to get M2EPro to bring them down.

I am working off the top of my head right now, so might be slightly wrong.

Go to Sell on eBay > Configuration > Accounts tab > click on your ebay account

Then on one of the tabs on the left there will be one for the eBay store (I think), look for a syncronise button for the store categories.
