I’m using M2E Pro to send my Magento items into the Ebay channel. Have an item which just sold on Ebay. This is unfortunate because we don’t have the item in stock!

Ebay listing quantity showed 7 while my Magento inventory shows 0. I’ve double checked all my List, Revise, Relist settings and for anything with Magento inventory < 1, the listing should automatically be hidden or not list at all. I further tested this by changing the inventory on an active listing through Magento. Within a few minutes, M2E showed the listing as "Listed (hidden)" and Ebay showed the item as "Out of Stock". So I believe my M2E settings are good.

We do some changes via .csv Import. My guess is M2E is not seeing this. Also, are there any other possible culprits?

Thanks – Kevin

Is your Quantity in your Price, Quantity and Format Policy set to “QTY” or “Product Quantity”?

We had trouble with this until we changed it to Magento Attribute “QTY”

I was in contact with M2E support regarding the topic above. Think the issue was due to the listing being a 3rd Party Listing (eg created in Ebay directly) which was later imported into M2E.

Not 100% sure, but seems the 3rd Party Listing was imported into M2E and connected with a Magento item, but maintained the original Ebay inventory qty. Apparently in this situation, M2E needs some kind of change (eg update to Magento qty) to trigger a sync (eg Revise) between Magento and the Ebay listing via M2E. Since the item sat in Magento without any updates, the was never a sync and the listing maintained the original Ebay inventory.

I’ll continue to monitor this, but looks like there are possibly some synchronization quirks when it comes to listings which were not created within M2E.

Hey Kevin,

Thanks for the update on this, that does sound weird, I thought the sync would overwrite the eBay data, let us know how the monitoring goes.
