HI Guys,

Having a strange issue. Whenever I try to list an item in Ebay, the gallery picture never shows up. So when you do a search you do not see what I am selling unless you go into the listing.
I always get this message:
‘Your listing was successful but there’s a problem with your gallery picture’

The rest of the listing is perfect. Image size is fine. My images are stored on my server and nowhere else. If I upload via using ebay’s website is perfect.

Has anybody heard of this before?

Hey gladtosell,

Glad you posted your query here because I have solutions you can try! :)

But before I do so, let me explain to you a little bit as to why you get this error. You get this for some reason (and it doesn’t happen all the time,) but when you do, it is usually because Ebay lags and is not updating as normal.

But fret not. You may try these things and see if any will help.

– More often than not, since this is just a lag, it usually will clear up in a matter of hours.

– If that doesn’t work, you can try to add ‘?refresh’ at the end of the page URL. Doing so will force Ebay to hopefully update your image.

– This is odd but you may want to try resizing the image to 501×501 pixels as opposed to Ebay’s 500×500 requirement if none of the above worked.

– Lastly, if all else fails, and if you’re knowledgeable with Photoshop (or know somebody who does), try converting the photo into the standard RGB. For some reason, Ebay does not work well with CMYK colours.

I hope at least one of these resolves it, gladtosell!

Hi Fae,

Thanks for your suggestions, not sure if they are valid for me. I have been listing and relsiting for weeks but nothing has changed. I have made sure that the images are above and beyond what ebay require.

I have been reading this may have something to do with my SSL certificate. Haas anybody else come across this?

Hi gladtosell,

One more thing I could suggest is try contacting eBay Customer Support. I have found out that this is also known as Gallery Error Code 6 on eBay. Error Code 6 for webhosted image is related to the webhost returning HTTP/500 type errors. And to fix it, you will have to contact the image host for technical assistance on this certain error.

Also, the SSL settings may be causing this as well, in that case, you will have to speak to your host.
