I am wondering if someone can clarify something please relating to selling overseas. We are based in UK and have sold successfully on Ebay UK for a number of years with a domestic shipping option (around £5) and international shipping option (around £17).
I have set up the policies and have begun to sell on Ebay USA but want to check that I’ve set up the shipping correctly.
In the Shipping Policy, I have set:
eBay site: United States
Location: United Kingdom
Domestic Shipping (this is where I have maybe gone wrong)
Type: Flat: Same cost to all buyers
Service: Fedex International Economy
International Shipping: None
Should the domestic shipping have been left blank and the International Shipping defined the Fedex shipment?
We are starting to find that a few international users are wanting to ship to their address but because we’ve got International Shipping as none, they can’t. I can change this but I was more concerned that the domestic shipping is incorrect as we are not based in USA
I’d really appreciate any guidance anyone can shed on the matter
Not something we’ve set up personally as you know, but I have asked Richard to see if he can confirm on how this is set up as I know he has done the international selling through M2E before.

Domestic shipment would imply you are shipping from the US to a US address. Since you state the item is located in the UK, you would need to enable international shipping as an option. I believe, I have seen this when I used international site from the US, that eBay will offer something like “ships from outside country…” or similar wording.
The problem is that if you define domestic shipment, you will be treated like a domestic seller with all the domestic shipping rules in your metrics. This will create issues for you as you will never be able to match domestic shipping times. And all of your shipments would be late.
Hope this helped.
