Listing error "Brand is missing", changes seems not to be saved

I want to submit one product of my listing to eBay. So I select the product and choose “List item(s) on eBay”. After a few seconds I get the error message:
Listing is missing required item specific(s): “Brand”.

I switch to my listing again, choose “View mode: Settings” and go to the product that I want to send to eBay -> I select “Edit eBay categories settings”. I click on continue and there I have to mandatory attributes: Size and Brand. For both “eBay Recommended” is selected. The product itself has a brand in my Magento shop. I change “eBay Recommended” to “Custom Value” and I entered some stuff. After that I clicked on save. Then I repeat the first step, but still I have the same error. When I then go to the settings view mode and take a look at the product settings, it shows me “eBay Recommended” again.

Does anybody know whats wrong here and how I can solve this issue?

Howdy Torben,

A daft suggestion. Set it as you would think it to be correct and then back on the settings view, from the actions menu try listing the item and see if the message comes back a second time.

If it does and you’re 100% sure you have a brand set (which it sounds like you do!), then it’ll be a question for M2E support as they’ll be able to look into your Magento system and see what is happening for that item.

Another possibility is you checked Brand in the Title & Description Policy under ebay Catalog Identifier.
