Processing Barcodes with ShipEasy PickPack

Apologies but not sure if this is part of Pick Pack or ShpEasy

Has anyone has any issues with using the “process barcodes” facility from the orders screen. I have been using for a while but as of a couple of days ago it is throwing up an error see attached file.

The screen shot appears once you have scanned the barcode, it appears to create the shipment but doesnt change the status of the order.

The only thing I have changed in Magento is add 3 more statuses.

Hi Dave.
Thanks. I’d like to do a test by deleting the order statuses that I created but there doesn’t seem to be a delete option. Any idea.

I’ve unassigned them to see if that helped but it didn’t

I looked into this and it looks like the only way to delete would be to delete from the database tables as it’s not possible through Magento: http://stackoverflow.com/quest…..der-status

I might give that a go, but not just yet, I’ve got about 80 orders that need to go out tomorrow.

Let me now throw something else into the mix, As the process barcode option isnt working I decided to try the import shipments option, and get an error with that as well see attached file.

i downloaded the sample file and tried importing 2 shipments (without tracking numbers) so just 2 order ID’s. the error mentions an order_icrement_id, however that isnt in the sample file.

Hey Steve, you need to match up whatever you have set in your config section with what you’re importing, so that shipEasy knows which columns mean what.

I expanded that section of the shipEasy documentation to help explain that.

My general rule of thumb is, if something works for a few months and I change something, and now it stops working, to roll back whatever I changed :)

shipEasy does work with custom order statuses so not sure exactly what your issue is without checking your setup.

According to the documention and the ship easy configuration there are 2 fields order ID and tracking ID, I have data in those and with the correct column names .

Infact I havent actually changed anything i have left them at the defaults. I then downloaded the sample file, via IMPORT SHIPMENTS – > example import shipments csv. using that file I uploaded my data wghich consisted of 2 orders selected the action ship and invoice and notify customer yes and thats when i received the error.

I am guessing that order_increment_id is actually the order number that you want to ship, i’m a bit confused as to why “increment” is used in the name as that makes me think the next order number muct be higher than the last. maybe i am missing something…. it is late (again)

My set-up is virtually virgin, as I have spent my last 25 years in software development implementing ERP systems, and I always try and change the procedures to work round the software rather than change the software to work round the business. This is probably not a debate to get into right now LOL but i appriciate different people have different views.

Just tested this by rolling back, i.e deleteing the the new statuses that i created and everything is now working OK again, so I guess the version I have doesnt work with a custom status. I cannot really justify spending $120 just to be able to use a new status I will probably try and use a different status.

Just to clarify what i did. If I changed the order to a custom status and tried to “process Barcode” i got the error, however if i delete the custom statuses that i created out of the database and try again everything works OK. I think i have earned a a good night sleep now lol

Good to hear you got it working again Steve.

I think we used order_increment_id as that is the official Magento name for the Order Id, but order_id would be more user friendly, I’ll change that, thanks for the feedback. I think the new documentation should remove any remaining confusion in the meantime :)
